paleocon wrote:Your logic is so twisted and internally self-contradictory and your grasp of history and recent events so factually wrong that your post makes my head spin. Your post must be the largest collection of purblind inanities I have read on this site in weeks. You can assure me all you want but your assurances are absolutely meaningless. John McCain and his actions in the US Senate over the past 8 years have demonstrated he is not nearly as conservative as you maintain.
Anyway, I read in another post that you dont know who Bill Buckley is. Bill Buckley is the guy who started the National Review, whitch Inspired Rush Limbaugh, Ronald Reagan, Newt Gingrich, and a lot of other important Far Right muckamucks that you Far-Rigthers look up to. Nixon and Jerry Ford refered to the Far-Right as "Buckleyites".
I am hoping to make clear the point that I am from the Moderate Conservative wing of the Party, like Ford, Nixon, and Bush Sr., and John McCain. Im not a Far-Right guy. And why were talk Radio Folks willing to compromise with Ford, Nixon, and Bush Sr. and not McCain? All you have to do is hold your nose just like you did with those guys, its no difference. John McCain is a comitted Republican. You Talk Radio Folks dont compromise even one little issue now. Every politican is a maverick on at least one issue. Just let the immigration thing go.
paleocon wrote:You are right when you suspect that John McCain's socialist principles will cost him a few votes. And if you think my calling "Illegals" illegal is harsh I suggest you pack it in right now because if you keep up this drivel I will unequivocally demonstrate "harsh" for you.
The Hispanic vote is very important to our voting margins. John McCain is committed to humanity and respect for Undocumented Americans, and that could help us shave a few votes away from Barack Obama. Now i know that Rush has got you Talk Radio Folks all worked up about immigration, but John McCain Understands that we need to secure our borders first. He is fully comitted to that. With all due respect, you Buckley people need to calm down, or you could drive away important Hispanic votes from the Party.
paleocon wrote:You may think free enterprise and a few small passages or amendments to the Constitution are "minor issues" but I assure you few people here share your "moderate" views. And frankly, you seem to lack completely any understanding of Marxism for, if you did, you would instantly recognize that Obama is a Marxist and that John McCain is advocating socialist, anti-capitalist, and more unconstitutional government intrusions into the US economy.
Now, I understand that you Buckleyites are against big Government, like all Republicans are. But this is over the top. None of our candidates are "Marxists". How could John McCain be a communist? he fought the Communitst in the War! he worked and played a major role in the fall of the Soviet Union, almost as much as Ronald Reagan. Obama might have some Socialist ideas, but lets be respectful of our opponent and not use a harsh term like that.
However, John McCain has an appropiate, Reasonable skeptisicm of Free Enterprise. He wants to regulate Greedy CEO pay, and put tougher Regs. on big oil.
paleocon wrote:If Tom Davis is your model of virtue for Republicans then you are staring across a chasm so vast that you cannot perceive the distance between our respective positions. Tom Davis is a political whore who has sold out the nation and the party for his personal benefit. If you expect me to compromise my principles to elect people like John McCain and Tom Davis then you obviously don't understand the meaning of the word "principle."
I see you live in Virginia, whitch is a swing state, and Tom Davises State. Now, I understand you Talk Radio folks are angry, but Tom Davis is a Comitted Moderate Conservative. He voted against most gun Control. He is not a political whore. Do you honestly know ANY polliticians who never changed positions? They all waffle a little. Even Ronald Reagan compromised once in a while. Thats how he was able to stay a republican for his whole life.
paleocon wrote:Your problem is that I do understand John McCain. I have watched him weaken the nation and the party for eight years. I have listened to him mumble, babble and lie and I am not going to be lied to any longer. Compromising with liars who have sold out their party and nation for whatever reason is not a "compromise" I am willing to make.
This is what im talking about. Rush Sean and Glenn have you so angry you cant even be persuaded! Everyone must compromise! Look, he isnt perfect but hes is better than Obama right? isnt that what Sean Hannity said? What if Obama gets elected! it would be a disaster! Vote for Moderate Conservative John McCain this november. Lets win one for the Gipper!!!
Join your friend phxcon, who now is proudly supporting John McCain, The Republican Nominee, for president!!!
