Why the Dems Will Win

Why the Dems Will Win

The coming election increasingly looks like a lock for the Dems. They have raised and seem capable of raising vastly more money than the Repubs. They have a young candidate who is a talented orator and capable of drawing vast crowds of mesmerized supporters. The Republicans have the baggage of an administration which has totally failed in presenting itself favorably to this country or the world. A failure of historical magnitude.
The young, the ignorant, the needy, the supplicants, the malcontents, the new immigrants are coming out of the woodwork to fawn before he who promises change and a proper redistribution of wealth. The Dems have taken over the internet to rally converts to their cause. Almost every day I get emails form the DNC urging me to support and donate. What do I get from the the RNC? Silence. Our candidate is older, less talented at telling people what they want to hear and really not that different in ideas from his opponent. Why would someone vote Repub when you have been promised free healthcare, higher taxes on the rich ( some of which may end up in your pocket), and the promise of CHANGE which could mean any one of many marvelous things for you. The Dems are more aggressive, better organized, better financed, and more focused on the prize. This looks like a big victory in November.

Here is an example of why the Dems will win. I get these messages at least once a week....

Dear Roy,

A new chapter in American history is about to be written.

The outcome of the 2008 elections will determine whether we continue with the disastrous policies of the past eight years or move forward to reclaim America's role as a beacon of hope, promise and inspiration across the globe.

Barack Obama and his Republican opponent are worlds apart. One will work hand-in-hand with a stronger Democratic Congress to chart a new course for America and restore our reputation and leadership. The other will bring us more of the same damaging policies of George W. Bush.

We must choose wisely and act decisively. Your support will make all the difference in this fight.

In modern campaigns, momentum matters. That's why next Monday, June 30, is such a critical date. This is the quarterly deadline for contributions that will be reported by the Federal Election Commission and publicized throughout our country. The whole world will be watching to see how enthusiastically Democrats will support Senator Obama as our nominee.  Please, show your commitment today with a gift to my friends at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) and your gift will be matched 2-to-1 by House Democrats.

Beat the June 30th deadline. Make a gift of $35, $50 or more to the DCCC's United for Change Matching Fund.

We need Barack Obama in the White House and a healthier Democratic majority in Congress if we are to move our country in a New Direction--the Right Direction.

This FEC deadline is critically important to our success in November. We must continue to show our support for Democrats in Congress. If we slow down now, with only a few months remaining, our commitment will be questioned and our momentum could slow. As an added incentive, your gift will be matched 2-to-1, tripling the impact of your generosity.
Beat the June 30th deadline. Make a gift of $35, $50 or more to the DCCC's United for Change Matching Fund.

June 30th is a big test of strength. It is our opportunity to demonstrate unshakeable support for Barack Obama- and to give him the strong backing in Congress that will put America once again on the side of peace, law, justice, human rights and true security around the world.

The Bush era is almost over, but the new era is not yet defined. Will it be more of the same? Or will it reflect the refreshing winds of positive change? You can make the difference by supporting Senator Obama and by contributing to our friends and allies at the DCCC. I assure you, your help will make a world of difference in our fight for America's future.

With gratitude and best wishes,

Madeleine K. Albright

P.S.  Remember, if you act now and beat the June 30 deadline, your gift will be tripled in its impact thanks to the United for Change Matching Fund.

What do I get from the Republicans? Nothing! You tell me who is more on the ball!
