Why I hate the New York Times

Postby dittohead on 10/14/07, 9:15 am

This editorial from the NYT is exactly why I hate this publication so much.  They manage in one short editorial to:

1.  Paint Bush's 1st term as bogus - the supreme court should have given it to AlGore.  The liberals and drive-bys will just never let this one die.  I will never forgive AlGore for putting the country through this drama, and it's been proven over and over that Bush won it fair and square.

2.  The editorial makes no mention of the generous amount of liberties that AlGore has taken with 'real' science.  Even the British gov't. is requiring a disclaimer to school kids about the pseudo-science before they see AlGore's video.

3.  Last by not least, is the gratuitous 'pot shot'  at GWB.  A NYT editorial is not really complete without it!

This is classic drive-by media!  It makes me want to puke!  Image

Here's the editorial:

What obvious science? A cheesy docu-drama even the British agree is flawed - he gets praised for THAT?

Though I have to say, I don't blame them giving the award to the UN Global Warming Committee. It's the least corrupt thing the UN is doing!

Let them gripe about the Surpeme Court giving the election to Bush. Of course they forget to mention it was a Clinton Court that made that decision. It amazes me they'd rather the SC ignore the facts and break the law just to give them what they want.

LOL Emergency. No time to stop the massacre in Darfur. No concern for securing Democracy in Iraq. They're actually bragging about using the Nobel Prize to embarrass GWB. Go tell the people in Darfur the world's biggest priority is playing political favorites among American leaders.

You have GOT to be kidding?  The IPCC is the "least corrupt thing the UN is doing?"  They are central to foisting a scientific farce upon the world that will lower the living standards of 6 billion people making them more susceptible to the ravages of poverty and disease and destroying capitalism, the only viable way of lifting people out of poverty.

The IPCC recommendations would accomplish NOTHING related to the global environment other than leading to the deaths of tens of millions of people over a few years once their idiotic polcies were implemented.  This is a plan for genocide pure and simple.  Yeah, that's not currupt.

Another reason to HATE the NY Times!  Just look at the highlighted section of the quote and tell me if this is just a little selective bias here.

Straight from Drudge.

MEDIA FIREWORKS: MCCAIN PLEADS WITH NY TIMES TO SPIKE STORY
Thu Dec 20 2007 10:56:57 ET

Just weeks away from a possible surprise victory in the primaries, Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz has been waging a ferocious behind the scenes battle with the NEW YORK TIMES, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned, and has hired DC power lawyer Bob Bennett to mount a bold defense against charges of giving special treatment to a lobbyist!

McCain has personally pleaded with NY TIMES editor Bill Keller not to publish the high-impact report involving key telecom legislation before the Senate Commerce Committee, newsroom insiders tell the DRUDGE REPORT.

The paper's Jim Rutenberg has been leading the investigation and is described as beyond frustrated with McCain's aggressive and angry efforts to stop any and all publication.

MORE

The drama involves a woman lobbyist who may have helped to write key telecom legislation.

The woman in question has retained counsel and strongly denies receiving any special treatment from McCain.

Rutenberg, along with reporter David Kirkpatrick, has been developing the story for the last 6 weeks.

Rutenberg had hoped to break the story before the Christmas holiday, sources reveal, but editor Keller expressed serious reservations about jounalism ethics and issuing a damaging story so close to an election.

McCain campaign officials Rick Davis, Charlie Black and Mark Salter are also said to have met with the NEW YORK TIMES in an effort to halt publication.

Developing...

Since when has the NY Times not run a negative story about politicians they DON'T like?  Remember the week or so before the 2000 Election when they published a story about a 30 year old DUI charge for GWB?  That didn't seem to bother them then.  But, of course, the media fawns over John "What First Amendment" McCain and HATES GWB.  Their "morality" and "ethics" appear to be just a little suspect if you ask me.

It would be FRONT PAGE, ABOVE THE FOLD if any other Republican asked the NYT to spike a story!  No, there is no BIAS here!  Keep moving.  Nothing to see here.

I have a dozen Intel PCs running Windows, Linux or Novell. And I own a Blackberry and Treo. No Apple stuff in my house. Now, I'll have to think twice about recommending it to clients and friends.

I am an IT guy.  I keep different systems running for testing and troubleshooting.  Plus my wife and kids have their computers too.  And all those power supplies keep the house warm too.

Frankly, I always thought there was something vaguely "commie" about Apple Computer. iMac, iPhone, iPod? If they were true Americans they would have called them USAMac, USAPhone and USAPod!

Everybody knows that "RISC" really stood for "Revolutionary Integrated Subversion Computer." That was why those pinkos at Apple jumped all over it at first instead of choosing a "CISC" processor which means "Conservative IS Conservative."
