What will win this for the Dems

Cut all the crap on both sides, and THIS is what speaks volumes to me:

Quote:In the 26 states and the District of Columbia where registration data were available, the total number of registered Democrats increased by 214,656, while the number of Republicans fell by 1,407,971. Quote:In several states, including the traditional battlegrounds of Nevada and Iowa, Democrats have surprised their own party officials with significant gains in registration. In both of those states, there are now more registered Democrats than Republicans, a flip from 2004. No states have switched to the Republicans over the same period, according to data from 26 of the 29 states in which voters register by party. (Three of the states did not have complete data.) http://www.nytimes.com/2008/08/05/us...cs/05flip.html

Yes, the conservative base is large. Yes, it is on fire right now because the Palin thing has held up to the initial firestorm of critique, and may hold up through the general election as well.

However, new voters are going to be one of the biggest keys to victory in this election (IMO). Most of these polls that you here being referenced include ONLY existing registered voters. The preliminary data shows that an unusualy large amount of new voters are going to register for November, and we can all guess where the majority are going to go (if the exisiting trends referenced above continue)

If i was a republican, this would be in the back of my head driving me crazy every day.

of the newly registered voters, democrat or republic or anything else, how many will vote for obama is the question? my guess is a little less than half.
