USA, Do Not Copy Europe!

The other day, Rush mentioned an article written by Tom Sowell regarding politicians looking at Europe as an example, to solve some of the social problems facing this country such as universal healthcare. Europe started two world wars within a generation and USA had to sacrifice its own men to stop them both. If it wasn’t for the American troops stationed in Germany since the end of the WWII, the Soviets certainly would have attempted to add more of the Europe to their “sphere of influence” besides Eastern Europe which they already controlled.

If you want to know more about Socialist Europe before the war read on,

Socialism Is Deadly

Socialism is not self-sustainable. It needs a leader to employ the power of the state to achieve its goals.

Soviet Union was established in 1922. It called itself Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. It added in short order Soviet Socialist Republics of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belorussia (now Belarus), Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kirgiziya (now Kyrgyzstan), Latvia, Lithuania, Moldavia (now Moldova), Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan. They were all called “Socialist”.

Hitler raised to power by building the German Workers' Party. The name was changed by Hitler to include the term National Socialist. Thus the full name was the National Socialist German Workers' Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei or NSDAP) called for short, Nazi.

After the war, Soviet Union retained Eastern Europe and installed communist governments. They all became “Socialist”. Czech Socialist Republic, Socialist Republic of Romania and so on.

I have a stepbrother in England. He reports to me that petrol is going for approximately $7/gal where he is. Also, he has needed knee surgery for years. He is only allowed to have it once in his lifetime and is apparently too young. His doctor continues to put it off despite the fact that he now has to walk with two cans or a walker. He is 66 years old. I sent him a bottle of advil once and his doctor had never heard of Ibuprofen before and told him not to take it. Who knows how old he has to be before he will be eligible for the surgery? He will probably die before he reaches that ripe old age of ?. Whatever it is, they won't tell him.

It's strange when countries in Europe are moving away from socialism yet we are moving towards it.
We've got to do a better job of getting across that America is freedom--freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of enterprise. And freedom is special and rare. It's fragile; it needs protection.

The ungrateful childeren of people who killed communism in Europe are pushing it. They have become lazy and complacent. They are being influenced by the LIBERAL MEDIA and CRAZY "MUSICIANS"
You know why we have a Second Amendment? In case the government fails to remember the first.- Rush Limbaugh

I find the embracing of socialism by liberals so disturbing. They don't think, they don't care, they want everything done for them. They idolize Europe, for WHAT??? There is not one other country that does things better than we do, not one.
Here's part of a story on France and their socialist government and the link follows:

"

France is the most popular country in the world amongtourists, receiving about 75 million visitors a year and has the thirdlargest income in the world from tourism.
But France's economy has grown more slowly than any other developed country in the world.

In 2006, its 2% growth was the worst in Europe. It alsohas one of the highest unemployment rates - 9.8% - of any Europeancountry.
Many large companies, banks and insurers have beenpartially or fully privatised and stakes in Air France, France Telecom,Renault, and defence company Thales have been sold off.
But the government still controls key assets such aspower, public transport and defence industries - sources of nationalpride.
There continues to be a strong will towards socialequity, with laws protecting workers and high public spending on publichealth and welfare.
Public finances are coming under strain from the pensionsystem and rising healthcare costs and the tax burden is one of thehighest in Europe, at nearly 50% of GDP in 2005.
Rigid employment laws and the tax burden make it difficult for businesses to compete in an increasingly globalised economy."
