Well, Liberals are certainly everything you say and more.  However, I can never countenance the extra-judicial actions you suggest.  I am a conservative and believe in the rule of law.

Liberterians have little in common with Liberals.  Why do you lump them together?

I can see how libertarians could be easily compared to liberals as they have a few of the same goals, although their ideologies are different.  Here's two similarities:  No war and Legalize drugs, especially Mary Jane.

A good place to witness the leftish goals of libertarians is Grassfire's Fire Society.  They've been taken over by libertarians and debating real conservatism is nearly impossible.

I would not ever condone the annihilation of liberals or libertarians either but I wouldn't be adverse to rounding them up and shipping them to re-education camps..before they can do that to us..    just kidding......

Plutarch warned, "The real destroyer of the liberties of the people is he who spreads among them bounties, donations and benefits."

First of all the War on Terror is not a war.  It is an operation.  Second of all if you think it is comparable to Vietnam, it's not.  Lastly, more people died during the years 1981-1988 in the military during the Cold War, than during "Operation Iraqi Freedom".

If you are speaking in general terms, sure, the war on terror is an ongoing thing.  Remember this: 2900 Americans died during the Cold War in 1982, the most Americans that have died in any year during Operation Iraqi Freedom is somewhere under 2800 total deaths.
