Hey all this is my first post! I like the forums!

All the illegals come here because the U.S is better than Mexico(or where ever they come from) right? Why are they giving up on their own country? How does coming here and abandoning their country's problems help improve it? They should work to make their country better!!  The first successful US colony was Jamestown in 1607.  So we became the best most powerful country in 400 years starting from absolute scratch.  Why won't they try to improve their own countries which by the way are all ready started?

they(gov)are always putting out a sure fire plan to rid us of the problem and making easier to get in....making ENGLISH our official language and beicoming an american should be the function....instead of just opening the door...instead of MEXIAMERACANADA....WE ARE AMERICANS we share we give up alot to services to serve illigles

Not all, a distrubing number come here because they are in trouble with the law in their own country. Still more come here to engage in some kind illegal activity - drug smuggling, gun running, moving other illegals across the border.

They are not concerned about making things better in their own countries. They are concerned about making their own lives better.

Well, I wasn't going to bring up our colonial period, because it is an imperfect analogy to our problems today at best. However, since you brought it up, ask yourself this question:

How did the pilgrims and colonists of the 1600s leaving their home lands in Europe and coming to America and settling here, improve/correct the corruption and social injustices that they were fleeing from in the Old World?

If your definition of absolute scratch is about 9 million square miles of pristine forest, mineral deposits, and grasslands, surrounded by 88,000 miles of coast line (and this is just for North America - I'm not including central or South America) inhabited by only a few million Native Americans that could not hope to compete with us from a technology standpoint, then I whole heartedly agree with you.  If this is NOT your definition of absolute scratch, I'd suggest you go read a few books.
