The Gross National Debt:

The best energy policy for our country is... OIL!!!

The best energy policy for our country is... OIL!!!

I believe that the best energy policy for the United States to follow is the use of fossil fuels.  There, I said it.  We should use as much of oil as possible.  Why?  Simple.  Because every time we spend money on oil/gasoline, a part of it goes to the Middle Eastern governments that hate us.  These governments need money to support their military buildups to fight us.  They also need money to channel to terrorist organizations that will attack us.

All of this is so important that I believe it is imperative that the US government do whatever it can to get Americans to use and waste as much oil as possible.  They should put down mass transit as social(ism)-engineering.  They should put down higher mileage standards on cars/trucks as government interference.

How's that for a plan?

I agree, if we invest in new non-oil technology we will be forced to generate new science and manufacturing jobs and once again become a profitable world technology leader.   That is going to require students to attend public colleges and universities who are able to attain the large government grants and subsidies to fund research and development (which gasp, the benefits of which we may not see instantly).  And we know what happens when people attend public colleges.  That's right.  They become liberal socialist hippies who will legalize gay marriage.  Which means every straight marriage will instantaneously dissolve and all men will instantly be attracted to each other and then we all die of AIDS.

Hey!  That's exactly what happened to me!  I went to college, became a liberal socialist hippy, became attracted to men and died of AIDS!  I thought I was the only one!  It's good to know that I'm not alone!

I agree: oil is the future.   And I disagree with A1kjl's assessment found in the previous "Global Warming is a Fraud" post:

"Responsibility is still called for…  There is no scientific debate on whether or not pollution is a problem. We cannot shirk our responsibilities on addressing pollution.. "

Bull!  We can and should be free to pump as many hydrocarbons and other bi-products into the atmosphere as we choose!  The atmosphere is virtually infinite in size, it is nearly impossible to tell who's polluting it and, even if pollution is a problem, it won't be on our watch!  Go oil and coal to save the nation now.  (read: you and me)   That's the right stuff.

UM, NO. Oil is a short term policy and one we need to get away from. We need alternatives. However, I do believe that if we have the resources such as the offshore and Alaskan oil reserves then then need to be tapped to relieve our current problems.

We are the OPEC of natural gas.

Why should we use oil from OPEC so they can fund the people we are fighting ?

Where do people think they get their money, its from the Saudia's and the rest of the oil producers in the middle east.

All cars in the US should be running nat gas.

We should be building 20-50 thousand nat gas stations NOW .

We should be building at least 100 nuke power plants NOW.

Why do people want to give our dollars to the people that are trying to kill us ?

One thing i learned in college and it was ---money is power--

Take away their money and you take away their power.

Let they go back to hearding goats.
