There was a time when this country strived for greatness. People of this country once knew what it took to succeed in life and worked to achieve their individual goals. Today , all you see are people wh are offended at every turn and can no longer pick themselves up off of the ground, without some kind of government subsity. The Founding Fathers of this great nation revolted against a tyrrannical government who accounted for les attrocities than our current form of government is guilty of. The freedom of religion is under constant attack, unfair taxes (i.e. the alcohol and tobacco tax) treason is front and center and even applauded,laws are passed without a voice from the people. The Federal government's original role was to secure our borders against foreign enemies and to ensure an army was in place. The leaders of today consider the Presidency as some form of royalty put in place to rule over our lives and daily decisions . Didn't we fight  wars against governments like this in the past? Today we sit back, lulled to sleep by modern conveniences and 24 hour entertainment while they slip in and take what is essential to a democracy: freedom of the people.
      The so called leaders of today are nothing of the sort. Their policy is to please everyone all the time, while dancing to the music played by media  polls. This , in my opinion, is not leadership. A true leader to me, has strong convictions and a direction he wants to take. Politicians today, only want to drive. They don't know or care where they are going as long as they are in the driver's seat. While our government  is of the people, by the people and for the people, policy  is formed not by us, but of liberal polls and judges who defy the law and create new ones to suit their wants and needs. If you gave someone a description of how our government operates, They would probably think back to Soviet Russia ( if old enough to remember). This is the greatest nation ever to be blessed by God. How long do we have until the yokes are firmly in place? How long do we stand aside and watch as our nation is taken from us?

That all sounds true USpatriot, but who do you think can change our direction?

First of all, America is NOT supposed to be a "democracy", we are a constitutional REPUBLIC...or were.

The difference is in a democracy, 51% of the people can vote away the rights of the other 49.   Or in other scenarios, the mob is allowed to pick their tyrant who is unrestrained by the rule of law.

In a republic, the ultimate sovereign power is derived from the PEOPLE who hire SERVANTS to manage necessities (securing the borders, maintaining roads, coining money, etc.).

There is a BIG difference between "leaders" and "officials" and "servants".  What do your elected representatives act like?   What is the media and education system teaching us to call them?

Read the American founding doccuments!   The Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.  While you're at it, read some of the writings of Jefferson, Madison, Adams, etc.  You may want to take a look at a bit of hisory of that time too to put things in context.

Our founders were political geniuses with amazing forsight, they have left many warnings, and did their best to bind their "servants" with the chains of the constitution.

Is this a Jefferson or Franklin quote?

People are saying that it's a Franklin quote, but I don't thing there is any evidence of it.
