I hopped in my truck to drive home from work the other day, and what should be the first thing that comes on our local talk radio station, but a news report playing a recording of Claire McCaskill (sp?) speaking in the Senate. To hear a senator from my state propagandizing on "greedy oil executives" and "windfall profits taxes" got the radio turned off the rest of the way home.
Missouri, for the most part, is a red state. In the last state government election, I remember republicans winning just about every position accept for state treasurer. My fiancée being an intern for the campaign of our now governor Matt Blunt had me along with her in Jeff City on election night. Our now senator ended up loosing to Gov. Blunt with more than a narrow margin, and seeing the results for all the positions come in was quite heartening. The only opposition came from Urban areas like St. Louis, Kansas City, and the college town of Columbia.
Rush and some National Review writers have recently been noting the leftists' game plan to try and promote the ideas of defeat and shame and pin them on republicans. I wonder how much of this national media effort plays into state politics...
So, raise your hand and say it with me if you want to make admit your state has a problem:
"Hi, I'm Dan, and the citizens of my state elected an idiot unrepresentative of our people to Congress."
The next step will be to educate others to our problem to get some conservatives back in Congress.

Pennsylvania is going Navy Blue and will undoubtedly go for Obama in November.
