Rush The Poet!

Rush The Poet!

Love yah Rush.  But seems to be something missing.  Could be the need to add a dimension.  See, thinkers write pieces and columns and books.  They argue with the ignorant.  All it takes the poet is a stanza to nail 'em.  The time is right for Rush The Poet!  Can't you just hear him ... reading these lines with a little act to it, some special tones and accents.  It's showtime!

S'pose you want to be like me:
Lean, mean of a thinking machine
In the know 'gards the such and so
'Bout the contemplation of your navel.
The senseless gets infectious, you got it.
Not to mention, it's by intention.
It's boring to be smart,
Much more fun to be dumb.
I like it living large,
Thinking free of charge.
The end in sight to being bright is now!
Misquoting Descartes 'gards my kind of smarts:
I would if I could but I can't; therefore, I am.

These lines were written last year as satire.  Just listen to Rush from yesterday's show, and it's getting awfully real out there.  The ignorant are rearing ugly.  Takes us to nail 'em.  We like the idea, Rush The Poet.  Our participation is his command.

Well, I see why your screen name is "longshot" and not "longfellow."  I'd suggest some additional editing before sending that in to El Rushbo himself.

I actually think it is more like a rap.  Couldn't you see El Rushbo rapping?

Did you mean "rap" or "crap?"  To a 45 year old Anglo there isn't much difference.

I don't think this works for Rush's demographic.  For virtually irrefutable evidence of this take a look at Karl Rove doing a rap and hip hop.  It just doesn't work.

You really need to get a sense of humor.

I have a sense of humor.  I got it at Wal-mart last Christmas.  Unfortunately, I realized it was made in China so I took it back because I don't like to buy products made by slave labor.  So, I had to get a new sense of humor at a retail outlet and it was more expensive so I could afford much less than I intended to buy.  Well, if not for these darn taxes I could afford to buy a lot more of it.  So, I simply cannot afford as much a sense of humor as you seem to indicate that I need.  I guess it is another thing to blame on Clinton and the tax-and-spend liberals.

Oh boo hoo.  A sense of humor doesn't require the first dollar.  A sense of humor comes from within just as happiness does which you'd probably say you can't afford either.  Boo hoo for you, sad sack.  I'd say Merry Christmas but you probably can't afford that either.  Well, Merry Christmas anyway from the mother of a soldier who is getting her son back from Iraq for Christmas!  It will be glorious for me; too bad you'll be stewing about this or that and won't enjoy it.

Well, there is a tremendous difference between a Merry Christmas and the cost of a sense of humor.  I will have the Merriest of Christmases with my family here with me and I am glad that this Christmas will reunite you with your brave son home from defending my freedom.  Bless you and bless him and all his comrades in arms where ever they may be stationed.

I lost my father while he was serving his country and I am eternally grateful to the young men and women to who love their country enough to protect and defend us against those who would enslave us.

Bless you and bless him and all his comrades in arms where ever they may be ths Christmas season!  Their service is appreciated.

Merry Christmas!
