Rush TV

Most people seem to be discussing politics in this forum,Open Line Friday, but the discription said you could discuss anything. I apologeize if it is not standard to post non-political subjects here.

I remember I first started listening to Rush on and off in 1991 or so, around the Gulf War, but I really didnt listen regularly untill 1992, when his TV Show came on. In the mid-90's I lost track of his show and just listened to the Radio show. I tried to find it again on tv several times but I havent seen it anywhere.

Was it canceled? Are there any plans to revive it? If you know anything about the channel it is on, please say so. I cant find any Info on it anywhere.

He's not on TV and hasn't been on for a pretty long time.  I'm not sure what happened but I don't think he has any plans to try it again.

From what I understand, very few stations wanted to carry the show.  The few that did kept moving the time slot around so that viewers would have a hard time finding it.  I remember at one point it was on in the DC area after 2:00 a.m.  That was before TiVo so there was no way I could watch it.

The show ran from 1992 to 1996.  IMDB has virtually nothing on the show.  Wikipedia has a short sentence in the Rush Limbaugh entry.

If you just realized it isn't airing any longer I am going to guess you don't watch much TV.

Not enough interest for him to have his own show anymore. Radio is perfect for Rush.

I stopped watching it during the mid-90's so I probably mistook it being moved and hard to find for it being completely cancled. I have casually been trying to find it again since then for about 10 years, everytime I go through my TV guide. Im glad I know It is canceled now, so I wont waste so much time looking around for it.

I was a late night cab driver at the time, I remember would come on my station at 4 in the morning, just after I came home from work.

The radio show is perfect anyway, I always felt that 30 minutes was too condensed and Rushed for Rush (no pun intended). It seemed like it was hurried and he was uncomfortable on TV.

I think If Rush Limbaugh even hinted that he wanted a TV show the networks would all be begging him to join them.

I wonder about that.  So much of the TV world hates Rush.  The liberal bias and envy with his 400 million deal would make the hostility pretty tough.  Look how they hounded him off of ESPN!  I wonder if Rush might not take advantage of the internet and create a TV show there?  He is innovative enough to give it a try.

Since the computer is slowly taking over the role of Televison, that probably would not be a bad idea. If it did well a Network or Cable channel might try to pick it up. But I still belive that he could get a TV Show anytime he wanted one.

I agree that Rush's absence from TV is probably due to the fact he doesn't need or want to be on TV at this point.  The man is raking in a $100 million signing bonus and $38 million a year.  I am guessing Rush spends at least 5 hours in show prep/evaluation every day.  Who needs another full time job to run a 30 minute TV show?  Frankly, I don't think additional money would be much of a motivating factor at this point.
