Frankly, he is underpaid.  I wonder why he settled for $50 million a year.

I agree he is 'underpaid', but for his field, he is far and away the leader.  Not only that (to borrow words from Frank Sanatra) he did it his way.  This has to have the liberal media STEAMING.  This man is on AM radio, do you understand the signficance of that!!  He makes more than broadcast television personalities, and he's on AM radio!!!!!!!  Unbelievable.....

Drudge always breaks the best stories

Well, that was the point of my "Howard Stern" comment.  Stern is the self-proclaimed "King of All Media" execept his switch to XM or Serius radio proves that isn't so.  Couric, Olberman and Matthews must be absolutely dying over this.  Does anyone actually listen to those three?  I imagine their combined weekly audience is far less than Rush's audience too.  

Fewer listeners and less pay and everybody knows it!  They must really hate all of us kooky dittoheads right about now.  Maybe Rush will make good on his promise to buy one of the networks and show them how to do it right.

I don't think anyone here thinks you suggested anything.  We are simply speculating on how much the HUGE EGOS in the MSM might be reacting to this news.  They uniformly hate Rush, Talk Radio and Americans so it has to be killing them to see him rake in the dough like this.

The MSM would have us believe that "Rush is irrevelant".  That's going to be a tough sell for them anytime soon.

What a nice deal for Rush. $50,000,000. per year. If you allow him to keep 55% after taxes, that is $27,500,000.
That means around $75,342.46 per day. Do you think a guy could indulge in Opus 1 Coronas, or single malt scotch on that salary? He could probably afford a garage full of Cadillac Escalades and a large compound by the ocean. I'll bet he could even give something back if he chose to. Maybe endow a chair for conservative studies at a prestgious university. Maybe help fund a charter school which has a curriculum devoted to principles he holds dear. Maybe help fund activist groups to get out the conservative message. What would you want on the pages of your legacy if you were making $75,342.46 per day? I believe people should be free to decide what to do with their own money, but it has always bugged me that people making huge sums of money d9on't want to give back a little more than just taxes.
