Reality Imitates Fiction Again?

I've done this before, but the parallels are there. Who has read The Sum of All Fears, Tom Clancy. Briefly, a TV news anchor with zero political or real world experience is elected president on the perceived strength of his media personality and charisma. The character was implied to be a Democrat, but Clancy did not spell that out. As the plot draws to its conclusion, the empty suit president is faced with nuclear terrorism and very nearly spawns a nuclear war. America's hero, Jack Ryan, saves the day with strength of moral character.

BHO is an empty suit Democrat who is winning hearts and minds with his media-manufactured personality and charisma. He has no leadership experience, as he continually proves when not speaking with a TelePrompter. He excels at telling people what they want to hear. Anyone can make a good speech, except perhaps John McCain. However, when the fecal matter hits the fan blades, the answer cannot be found on a TelePrompter, or in poll numbers, or in populist rhetoric.

Effective leadership is born of character. Character means doing what is right even when it is not popular. It means doing what is right because it is right. Pandering to special interest groups, promising people the impossible and class warfare are popular, with many in our country, but do not constitute leadership.

Clancy's president lacked character and leadership, and nearly destroyed the world. Was he being prophetic again?
Be careful what you wish for, .......

Clancy had a way of being prophetic. The kamikaze 747 crashing into the Capitol seemed impossible when I first read the book. And we all know how that turned out.

If Obama is elected will that turn into the best-case alternative!
He has all the virtues I dislike and none of the vices I admire.
