I support Bill Clinton

I support Bill Clinton

I'll never forget the segment where Rush came on the air said all was lost and he supporting Bill Clinton's bid for the White House.

Then the next segment he came out and completely ignored that comment and went on with the program as normal.

I laughed out loud as I knew exactly where he was going.

The rest of the day callers came out of the woodworking begging Rush to reconsider, all the time he denied ever endorsing Clinton.

He was making a point about honesty and integrity of course pointing out in his way Clinton's issues with those items.
Priceless.

It always amazes me how many people just don't get Rush's sense of humor.  I have only been listening for about 4 1/2 years now.  I didn't even watch him when he was on TV.  I thought, like the MSM wanted me to think, that he was just a far-right blowhard.  Within a week of listening to him I knew I had found my political guru.  Even during that first week, I could tell when he was joking and when he was serious.  He pretends to have a huge ego and all that but that's just his schtick.  And the left doesn't get it.

My boss, and a good friend, is hopelessly liberal.  The other day he said words to the effect that Limbaugh's a dope.  He then related something that I had heard Rush say on the radio that was completely tongue-in-cheek.  I laughed and told him that it was a joke.  Then he admitted that he only heard a clip of it played on another show.  So there you go:  out of context again, like the left always does.

Algore (Paul Shanklin) singing "Ring of Fire" is one of the best parodies he's done in a while.  "In a Yugo" is great, too.

I'm not sure when I first started listening to Rush (probably mid-90's); but I became a regular listener after Sept. 11th.

Even back when I only listened sporadically, it only took 2 (maybe 3) days to recognize his humor, toungue-in-cheek, absurdity-proving-absurdity, and the meaning of "talent on loan from GOD".

It amazes me when people -- mostly libs who dip their toes in the enemy's water, but also a few long-time listeners -- just don't get it.  A humble man who pretends hubris for comedy, his delivery is what makes him one of the greatest entertainers of recent decades.  The fact that he's almost always right is just a bonus.

I was listening at the very start of the day Rush came out and said he was going to support Bill Clinton in the election.  I remember I nearly choked on my coffee when I heard him say it.  His tone and choice of words was perfect.  It took me about 30 seconds to realize that he was pulling one of the best jokes ever.  But he sure shocked me for the first 30 seconds.  I stayed glued to my radio to listen to callers.  It was fabulous.  This man is a genius.

"...So there you go: out of context again, like the left always does..."

What other defense do they have? The Drive-Bys know they can't ignore him completely because too many of us listen to him (jealous, aren't they?). Their only move is to take him out of context every now and then to try and distort the public perception, as with most everything else. They can't do it too often, however, else we would all have reason to doubt their *chuckles* "journalistic integrity."

Oh wait...
