Poor Richard On Poor Us

Poor Richard On Poor Us

These I dug up from the Seventies.   Apparently what goes around not only comes around but sticks around.

Poor Richard in his Almanack praised the self-reliant act.
How the networks would chagrin; they see it as a mortal sin
    To self-reliantly produce, reluctantly consume.
The advertising sage has a saying for the age:
Your reluctant consumer is not your best customer.
The advertising dollar underwrites the press.
In recent years his views have not been blessed.
We need Poor Richard to tout frugality
    And help us apprehend reality.
