Gee, I wonder if the Prosecutor had the backing of anyone higher up in the government?

I wonder if he was good friends with anyone higher up in the government?

I wonder if he was acting according to policy dictated by his boss?

I wonder if he was instructed to prosecute this case so aggressively (to the point of lying under oath) by a boss/friend who appointed him?

I wonder if the judge happens to know, or is friends with, or was appointed by the same person who is Sutton's boss/friend?

I wonder if this boss/friend instructed that this mock trial take place in order to appease the Mexican Government?

I wonder if this boss/friend of both prosecutor and judge was asked to intervene in the case by the President of Mexico?

HHHMMMMMMMMMM!? I Wonder?

Good post though you have to wonder why so many are avoiding this thread when it affects everyone and how this was prosecuted and why. This is the greatest enjustice ive ever seen and when the sentence came down i knew this wasnt good and it was wrong and the way they did it and not only that they prosecuted him on the wrong law and on the word and immunity of a drug runner and of an illegal, since when does that work under our laws?

I think people avoid this thread, and the illegal immigration topic in general, out of frustration. Everything that those opposed to illegal immigration want to say has already been said. There's simply very little that the average American can do about it if the Bush Administration not only refuses to enforce our laws, but does everything it can to exacerbate the problem.

Plenty of people, including Congressmen, have written to the President to encourage him to pardon these men or to at least reduce their sentences. The President simply ignores these pleas, and refuses to even respond to the illegal immigration issue altogether.

At this point, I think most conservatives have shifted focus from the current Administration to finding a Republican candidate who will enforce our laws if elected next year. Most people, although still gravely concerned, have simply given up all hope of having this President do anything about it! He clearly won't.

In addition, there are many Republicans and Conservatives - Including Rush Limbaugh - who don't like to draw attention to the issue because it would require criticizing George Bush.

To my mind, the issue is dire enough, and President Bush's intentional Dereliction of Duty is serious enough, to warrant impeachment, conviction, and removal from office. Several years ago, based on his steadfast prosecution of the War on Terror, I had such a high opinion of the President that I thought he would go down in history as one of the greatest Presidents ever. Boy, have things changed.

I think that President Bush is not only guilty of total Dereliction of Duty, I feel that many of his actions in his second term have been geared toward annihilating America's national sovereignty. This would make him guilty not only of an impeachable offense, but also guilty of TREASON.

In short, my opinion of President George W. Bush has shifted over the last 3-4 years from adulation and adoration to believing with all of my heart that he is traitorous scum who should not only be removed from office, but should be publicly hanged until dead.

This is one of the saddest events of the now increasingly sad Bush presidency. It makes me wonder what might have happened to any law enforcement officer had he caught one of the 9/11 terrorists had they somehow survived the attack.

I mean if you get sent to jail for shooting a drug dealer, what would be the sentence for shooting a terrorist who blew up a building and killed hundreds or thousands of people? The poor cop would probably get a lethal injection.

What is a cop to do when he knows the DA is more interested in busting him than drug dealing illegal immigrants?
