Is this what America has come to?

The Democrat's can't convince people to support their expansion of SCHIP, so they call on some dumbass folk-rocker to promote their cause?  Do they think this will sway people?  Given American's idolatry of celebrities, are they right?

This is sooo sad.  They can't make a sound argument for their agenda so I'm supposed to agree because Paul Simon agrees.  Because Paul Simon thinks the President hates children (and, like all Republicans or Conservatives - he eats babies for lunch) the Dems think I'll agree?  Why, because I like his music?

Now, why would Dems think this would work?  Because their probably right.

Not with you or I, mind you.  But the American Left actually listen to schmucks like Sean Penn, or George Clooney, or Alec Baldwin, or Rosie O'Donnell or whomever.  The MSM routinely reports the political views of these clowns as if they should be taken seriously.

What I'd love to see is a News network or newspaper routinely report every time the MSM reports the political views of celebrities as if they are news, and mock whatever network actually reports this garbage as serious news.

Wouldn't you love to see a report on, say, FoxNews that goes something like this: (laughing) "And today NBC reported George Clooney's opinion on the War as NEWS."  ha-ha-ha, hee-hee-hee.

In other words, what ought to make news is the fact that so-called legitimate news networks actually report the views of these idiot celebrities as if they were experts on Foreign Relations, the Economy, Government, or whatever.

I agree 100% but most Americans are so stupid they wouldn't even get it.

That's always how Democrats form an argument. It's never debating anything of substance. Like the SCHIP thing for example - no discussion of how we'll get the money, who decides eligibility, etc. They show pictures of unhappy children, then tell America they only have one solution. When Bush simply disagrees on the basis of substance they gloss over the details and say he hates those unhappy children.

It's like your five-year old daughter wanting to help balance the checkbook, and when you show her the stack of bills, she says you're making it too complicated.
