Terrible, she had to follow the McCain script.

I thought she did OK, but it is just hard to believe that she did not jump all over the lack of oversight of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac by the democrats who now tell us they are going to fix the problem.  I have to believe that this was a conscious decision by McCain to restrain her.  I just don't get it.

The McCain/Palin ticket seems all too eager to place most of the blame for our current economic woes on Wall St., and not nearly enough of the blame on government.

If i'm rating based on quality of her debating and connection with the audience, she trounced Biden.  She is a fantastic speaker, and very down to earth.  Those things will play well with the average American.

She was great on offense, and I think kept Biden on the defense for much of the debate.  Considering his 30 years in the legislature, and her relative newness, I'd say that is no small feat.

The problem I have is the same as with McCain, she's politically somewhere in the middle (or McCain is not letting her go to the right of himself).  Manmade global warming, carbon offsets, greedy captilism, blah blah blah.

I would like to see a more conservative approach to answering these questions, but hey, she is McCains running mate.

On the whole I think McCain is thrilled tonight.  Palin has proven again the MSM image of her was way off base.

She helped the ticket tonight and clearly won the debate.

If McCain doesn't go after Barney Frank and his buddies at Fannie and Freddie he deserves to lose and I may still sit this election out. Otherwise he should shut up about reform and cleaning up the government.  The type of reform most people want is to start holding politicians accountable for the tremendous screw ups we have had from 9/11 to Katrina and now this affirmitive action world financial meltdown.

It is an insult to the extreme to see the people who created the mess get off scott free and than go onto to profit even more from the next screw up.  I'm sick of Dems being allowed to cover up their crimes and blame it on the GOP and the GOP does nothing!

Gov Palin held her own; however, she is being held down by McCain and his campaign. McCain is ignorant.  Her popularity is not because of his moderateness, it is because she is a conservative.  She needed to go after the Dems tonight by telling the public just exactly who is responsible for the Fannie May and Freddie Mack fiascos.    I say let her be herself..the only conservative in the group.  I say stop saying we're the Mavericks and start saying we are going to cut Govt, we are going to cut taxes, we are going to put more money in your pockets, we will protect this country, we will close the borders (notice any conversations about illegal immigration tonight?), we are going to fix the credit problem..here's how..(stop the attacks on Wall St.), etc., etc., etc.  Biden's crap tonight was just more of the liberal half truth campaign.  She should have countered tons of his figures but more often than not was faced with another question from the moderator.

The moderator did ok but it was another set up.  Far too often, Biden got to make his outlandish comments and then she changed the subject so Palin could not rebut what he just said.  Anyone notice that?  The times she veered off the question were when she wanted to rebut his previous comments and was not given the chance because the moderator changed the subject.

John McCain should wake the h*ll up.  His beloved Dems are trashing him and his wonderful MSM is doing much the same thing.  He needs to stop standing up for the Dems and start showing he's the man for the job.  If he doesn't do it soon, he's not going to win this and he will go into the record books with Bush for being responsible for this country changing from Democracy, freedom and liberty to socialism and communism.  He says he will support this country.  Now's the time, John.

I say FREE SARAH PALIN!!!  Let her be the conservative she is and let her voice conservatism all over this country!

Palin is a MAVRICK... maybe you lefties don't know what that means.  She can do what she wants when and where she wants.  That means she can do everything exactly the way McCain wants her to do it if she so pleases... she's a mavrick.
