Lefties?  hmmm..  Only been called that because of the hand I write with...never my ideology.  I don't believe she is a maverick in the sense you are saying.  If John McCain tells her to say xyz, she's going to say xyz.  If she were the head of the ticket, I believe she'd be saying things alot differently, but she's not.

She says xyz because she WANTS to say xyz.  The fact that she does what she wants makes her a MAVRICK.



That's just the point,  She isn't doing what she wants.  She's doing what McCain wants.

i thought she was great. very respectable job. make that an outstanding job when you consider she's up there with a guy that's made a career out of national politics.
