Obama wins debate according to slightly biased poll

Postby theRat on 09/27/08, 4:45 pm

I've been reading some numbers at both CNN and Foxnews that indicate that 51% of people polled thought Obama won the debate - while 38% thought McCain won.  Both reports indicate that there were more democrats surveyed than republicans.

For those that claimed they weren't committed to either candidate, 39% thought Obama won the campaign while 24% thought the win went to McCain - the rest were tied.

Personally I thought it was a draw - even though I thought McCain did "ramble" a bit in parts - the path he got to repeating hims comments about looking in Putin's eyes was pretty circuitous.  I'd give Obama the nod though since he held his own against someone with more experience.

Honestly, Mr Rat, why post this garbage at all??  Considering the source and considering the admitted skewing of those polled, why post this nonsense?  What do you think a bunch of Democrats are going to say..McCain won?  As of this afternoon, Drudge still had McCain winning by more than 20 points.  Do I believe those polls?  Nope.  Drudge is center right (more in tune with Blue Blooded RINOs).  You would expect it to skew toward McCain.  Polls show (1) whatever they want them to show based on the questions and (2) whatever they want them to show based on who's participating in the polling.  I don't buy any of them.

I was just looking at drudge....what was it ...66% says McCain 'won' and 26% says Obama 'won'.  I'm sure this is upsetting to cnn and the rest of the alphabet networks since they have worked so tirelessly (and shamelessly) to push this guy off on the American public.   I got NEWS for you CNN.  You guys got away with this with Clinton.  It's NOT going to happen again.

I would be more inclined to go with Drudge info on the numbers rather than CNN.   Unfortunately for CNN. PERCEPTION IS REALITY.  And so the American people perceive that mccain won it, the reality is that MCCAIN WON IT!

polls are not published for a rational person with high school level of education or higher. polls are published for the uneducated and irrational. and of this population, they're really focused on a subset of uneducated and irrational people that vote. immigrants with no education. fanatics that don't need polls. niche groups like that.

question is whether these are swing votes. in some inner cities maybe, but even there its down to obama's brown-shirt tactics and post-vote litigation to push it over the top. this year will be an ugly one. and in light of our economic crisis, we may very well see historic events this election. might get real, real fast.
