The irony here is palpable since I've had the finger flipped at me repeatedly since I got here by people who disagree with *me*.

No, what happens is that you are disagreeable and then when someone acts the same toward you, you don't like it.    You're a lone leftist on a conservative board and you stay here at the pleasure of the administrator.   One would think you'd be a little more pleasant.

What **specifically** is your problem with this?  I watched the entire clip and I don't see a problem at all.  

You remember that in 2000 when Bush was running against McCain, some Bush supporters spread rumors that McCain had fathered an illigitimate black child - trying to sink McCain's chances at beating Bush.  Perhaps if McCain had had something like this in place in 2000 he would have become president then and we wouldn't be in the mess we are in now...

I don't see anything wrong with reminding voters at the last minute that Obama is Christian - just as I don't see anything wrong with reminding voters at the last minute that lies told about Palin are wrong.  People at this site claim that a lot of lies are being told by the left about Palin.  Wouldn't it be a good idea to "hang out near the polls" and remind people that these lies are false?

Is the issue one of intimidation?  That's a concern that makes sense to me - but your blanket statement that these are just "gestapo tactics" doesn't make clear what tactics you are talking about.

There are a number of problems with this.  Let's start first with the fact that it is "The Obama Truth Squad," not "The 2008 Presidential Elections Truth Squad," not that that would make it right.  Next, this Obama Truth Squad is being championed by law enforcement.  There is a huge problem with law enforcement telling people what they can and can't say.  It's called intimidation.  Further..just exactly who will be the arbitors of truth?  Who is to say what is true and not true?  Will the truth determiners provide proof of the truth or just provide hits on people who say things Obama and the Truth Squad don't like?  

It is bad enough that the MSM says garbage about Palin but they have never vetted Obama.  Now, the Truth Squad will provide the new Pravda rules for Missouri..  Freedom of Speech is lost to Missourians.  Remember who's idealogy Barack Obama follows...Sal Alinsky's.  Remember that he called for win at any cost.  I have a hard time believing that the people in the heartland of Missouri will allow this to happen...law enforcement or no law enforcement.

Let me say this about you rat, you are far more cordial than most of the libs that come here, and for that I do commend you.

However ... It is impossible to have a logical debate with someone who chooses to defy logic with almost every statement they make.

I would argue that any objective person would see the tactics of obama above to fly in the face of the free speech that this nation was founded on.  Not only that but obama in particular has just run a hit piece on Rush that was a total fabrication - and declared so by even liberal media outlets.  Then he goes to start a 'truth' squad to threaten legal action against anyone who 'bends' the truth against him.  I don't care if you're from the left or right, that is objectively wrong and hypocritical.

Is that specific enough, do you get it yet?  Let me try this way too just in case:

1) Obama runs ad trying to link McCain with Rush Limbaugh (whom are diametrically opposed on the subject of illegal immigration).  He pulls choice words from a Rush monologue out of context in order to smear him.  It's an outright lie, and even the media calls Obama on it.
2) Obaba starts the truth squad to threaten legal action against anyone who says something about him that he disagrees with.

Was it really that hard for you to see this from my first post?  I'm starting to feel like you are doing some of this on purpose, and that you actually really do know better.  It's perhaps a 'coy' way of making all of us waste our time explaining elementary logic to you.

I'll wait for a few more posts to make up my mind...
