New User...Need Rush 24/7 Audio Help

Postby SanGennaro on 01/31/08, 12:16 pm

Hello,

I just found this website after coming up with an idea to honor my uncle who just passed away last month.
For Christmas, I gave my mom a subscription to Rush 24/7 and she loves the ability to listen anytime. I also showed her how to have the show sent to her daily in a podcast. After seeing the shows adding up in her file I came up with an idea.

Here is where I need help.

My uncle, a HUGE Rush fan, was a traveling salesman (fire trucks) and was able to listen to Rush almost every day because of his time on the road. He passed away on 12/5/07. He had been on the road that day and most certainly would have listened to the show that day.

Would anyone be willing to email that day's show, assuming someone here might have the podcast.

My email is pmsichristopher3@aol.com

Thanks for any help.

Doesn't Rush have archives going back that far?  I guess the audio files take up a big of space but that is just three months back.  It is worth a look.

Unfortunately his archives only go back 4 weeks.

I have emailed the Limbaugh site. Maybe something will come from that.

Thanks

I never thought about how big 3 hours of audio must be.  I mean a song is short song is 3MB or nearly 1MB per minute when using MP4.

So do a little math here:
3 hours * 60 minutes = 180 minutes per show
180 minutes * 1MB = 180MB per show
4 weeks  * 5 days = 20 shows in the archive
20 shows *180MB = 3,600MB or only 3.6GB for the whole archive

That isn't that much space.  Wonder why they don't keep more?   I am not a 24x7 member but just assumed the archive would be pretty big.
