It is indeed refreshing to note that there is still a glimmer of Conservatism in South FLorida. We lived in Broward County for over 30 years and I feared for the future of the tri-county area with the influx of Liberals from the north.
My concerns grew at the end of the 2000 and 2004 Election cycles what with the 'hanging chad's' and weeping and knashing of teeth of the Left. The heroine of the first Bush victory was no other than Katherine Harris the then, Florida Secretary of State.
But paybacks are pure hell and when she ran for political office the Democratic Machine steamrollered her into oblivion.
This last Democrat debate in Miami, which was nothing other than outright pandering to the Cuban and Latino communities tells me that the Left isn't finished with Florida yet. Not by a darnsight.
Since using virtually the same tactics in Ohio didn't prove fruitful in the 2004 Bush re-election I suspect that Florida will once again be playing a prominant role in this 2008 Election.
There seems to be, in Florida, a particularly nasty breed of Liberals who having sharpened their wits and fangs in the 2000 cycle will again in this upcoming cycle attempt to swing the results in their favor.
Gore wasn't worth fighting the good fight for...but Hillary? Mark my words Florida.
If you thought 2000 was hectic...I see the foundation being laid by Moveon.org and the radical Left to steal the next election with all the power they can muster. and Florida, I predict, will be the battlefield.
So all you fine Conservative voices in the State will need to work even harder to make the residents of Florida realize that they will need to be ready for the upcoming War!
