New Colorado Law Will Ban the Bible

New Colorado Law Will Ban the Bible

Postby SoldiersMum on 07/24/08, 7:58 pm

Colorado just passed a law that could
ban the distribution of the Bible in that state.

The Law -- SB 200 -- bans the distribution of any written
material that discriminates based on "sexual orientation."
According to the law, that includes...

...any communication, paper, poster, folder, manuscript,
book, pamphlet, writing, print, letter, notice, or
advertisement of any kind, nature, or description which is
intended or calculated to discriminate or actually
          discriminates..."

Liberty Counsel’s legal team has concluded that this statute
effectively means a judge in Colorado has the power to ban
the distribution of the Bible in that state!

Yes, this may turn out to be an interesting few years in Colorado.  Of course the Christian Bible will be banned but the Koran will be just fine.

We shall have to see if "Justice" Kennedy can hold out long enough to see if he is for or against the 1st amendment.

There is a similar law allowing perverts to use the women's room in public buildings in Maryland.  They haven't tried to pass this yet in Virginia but it is only a matter of time.  But, I make no bones about the fact that I have used physical force in the past to protect my family and I will do so in the future.

I don't care how "confused" someone is about their genitalia.  If they try to hurt my family they are likely to carry their genitalia home in a box.

My sentiments exactly.

GOPER is back and he will think this is HARSH.

I wonder if GOPER approves of the Bible or Colorado?

Actually, I believe the Koran calls for death to homosexuals.  If that is the case, it will also be banned from distribution.  However, watch to see if that is upheld in the Colorado state Government.  My guess is the liberals will find a way around having the Koran included.

Well, that was kind of the point.  The Koran is full of "off with their heads" kind of stuff about everybody.  The Koran is full of dirty old men raping little girls.  The Koran is full of vile stuff.  But, I predict the Colorado law will ONLY apply to the Christian Bible.  After all, Islam is the "religion of peace."

Take a look at the entire section.

SB08-200 -9-
24-34-701. Publishing of discriminative matter forbidden.
Noperson, being the owner, lessee, proprietor, manager, superintendent, agent, or employee of any place of public accommodation, resort, or amusement, directly or indirectly, by himself or herself or through another person shall publish, issue, circulate, send, distribute, give away, or display in any way, manner, or shape or by any means or method, except as provided in this section, any communication, paper, poster, folder, manuscript, book, pamphlet, writing, print, letter, notice, or advertisement of any kind, nature, or description which THAT is intended or calculated to discriminate or actually discriminates against any disability, race, creed, color, RELIGION, sex, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, marital status, national origin, or ancestry or against any of the members thereof in the matter of furnishing or neglecting or refusing to furnish to them or any one of them any lodging, housing, schooling, or tuition or any accommodation, right, privilege, advantage, or convenience offered to or enjoyed by the general public or which states that any of the accommodations, rights, privileges, advantages, or conveniences of any such place of public accommodation, resort, or amusement shall or will be refused, withheld from, or denied to any person or class of persons on account of disability, race, creed, color, RELIGION, sex, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, marital status, national origin, or ancestry or that the patronage, custom, presence, frequenting, dwelling, staying, or lodging at such place by any person or class of persons belonging to or purporting to be of any particular disability, race, creed, color, RELIGION, sex, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, marital status, national origin, or ancestry is unwelcome or objectionable or not acceptable, desired, or solicited.

Unless the Bible has a passage that says "a man who lies with another man cannot do so in the motel six off of I-70 in the State of Colorado," I don't see how this could ban the Bible.

I'm watching this new Colorado law with a great deal of interest.  The International Bible Society--the publishers of the NIV Bible--are located in Colorado.  I doubt very much that the State of Colorado will actually ban the Holy Bible at this moment.  BUT, the door is certainly open.

Of course Liberals will resort to their time tested, tried and true tactics of assuring us that this new law would never be used to ban the Holy Bible...like we're too stupid to read the law...and, then a few years down the road...GOTCHA!  The Holy Bible gets banned under this or some similar law...with the Liberals all sitting around with their "you shoulda known" smug faces.
