Southern Decadence is a week-long, predominantly gay-male event held in New Orleans, Louisiana and its environs by the gay and lesbian community in early September, climaxing with a parade through the French Quarter on the Sunday before Labor Day.neighborhood of New Orleans, centering especially on the intersection of Bourbon and St. Ann streets.


As tropical storm Gustav barrels towards America's Gulf coast, the organisers of the New Orleans Southern Decadence gay celebration are watching its every move very carefully.
Three years ago, almost to the day, the Southern Decadence festival was cancelled when Hurricane Katrina hit the city full-force, resulting in one of the nation’s most devastating natural disasters.

I am presuming that your comment is meant to show disdain for the Christian God; however, your English needs correction.  The Christian God is seen in the Christian scriptures as a personal being, so therefore the proper comment of disdain would be " .... that's what God does with His time ... "  A personal being is never referred to as "it".

[SIZE=9pt]"It" refers to the concept of God. "His" gives credence to the concept. I have no specific disdain for a Christian God as you call it. I do have disdain for mystics and mysticism which Christianity is only a part of. When mystics start telling you how things are (especially when it involves judgment for being one way or another) I start feeling sick for the trouble it brings and sad for the limits inherent in the expression.
