Yeah, when I think about great Americans who have gone out of their way to support the troops names like Jane Fonda, George McGovern, Howard Dean, Susan Sarandon, Bill and Hillary Clinton will all be absent from the list. Who do they think they are fooling?
Unfortunately, I think they're fooling quite a lot of folks, including Republican politicians & even conservative radio hosts. Perhaps it's only so that a discussion doesn't turn immediately into an ad hominem shouting match, but I've hear too many Leftists get away with saying thing like "just because I don't support the war, doesn't mean I don't support the troops!" OR "Don't you dare question my Patriotism!".
It's all garbage. I'll say it loud & clear: If you don't support the mission, then you don't support the troops. To suggest otherwise is a paradox which makes no sense.
Moreover, the Left in this country has a 30 year history of hating, disparaging, insulting, and harming the U.S. military. Are we to now believe that they've turned over a new leaf? Even today, there are people who will spit on our soldiers when they return home!
WARNING: Anyone who spits on an American soldier in my presence. I will knock your ass out. Even if it means doing jail time; if you spit on a soldier & I see it, you will land yourself in the hospital - man or woman!
Also, I will absolutely question the patriotism of most leftists - especially people like Dick Durbin, Jack Murtha, John Kerry, Harry Reid or Nancy Pelosi; as well as the Clintons, the liberal media generally, and the NY Times in particular. I believe most of these folks have done & said things which, in a more reasonable age, would have resulted in their hanging for treason!
Note: to Jack Murtha & John Kerry -- Having served in the military in the past does not give one carte blanche to insult and disparage our military. Nor does it give you free reign to oppose war on unreasonable grounds.
I realize that I'm preaching to the choir here, but any libs who happen by should take note of this post.
