Never before was a country that big taken in 23 days. Their objective was to defeat SADDAM'S army and SECURE the NUCLEAR WEAPONS.(AND THEY WERE THERE ) They did that. If BUSH REFUSED to look at the FACTS of the SITUATION and see that there was an insurgency, that is HIS PROBLEM, not TOMMY FRANKS, no matter how many "Official studies" and "Military experts" despratley try to SAVE that RINO.
In my OPINION the SURGE was not even necessary. The war was going fine. The "surge" was a POLITICAL STUNT designed to APPEASE LIBERALS after the 2006 elections. He THREW our TROOPS and our GENERALS UNDER THE BUS, in order to WIN THE FAVOR of LIBS, JUST LIKE MCCAIN.
I don't care if you don't like it quite frankly. I was talking about their planning for what to do to win the peace. I was speaking of certain Generals, not all of them. They were miserable (especially Franks and Casey), and excuse me for living but my son was there and I was playing very close attention. I also know several Generals who are friends of mine and my husband's who know the truth. My son's unit lost 17 soldiers in Fallujah, the most of any unit at that time but they had the highest kill rate. That's a fact that caused his unit to be investigated because of John Murtha. My son had 16 concussions during his 2 tours (27 months total) from being a gunner and being blown off his vehicles that were struck by Iranian IEDs. He received the purple heart for one of them where he was unconscious for two days. He is probably being medically retired because of brain damage and the PTSD he got from his first tour. He cannot sleep, he cannot remember short term. He saw things and lived thru things you cannot possibly imagine which I sat and listened to as he cried. Things so horrendous that I wish I didn't know them but had to let him vent. You bet your butt that I am critical of the Generals for the way they fought the peace and my son's condition is what gives me the right.
As far as the surge goes, you are totally wrong. The surge has turned this around. Bush finally found the General who would make it work and it has worked. What qualifications do you have to make an opinion about the surge and these particular Generals besides being a "journalist" who reports on downed traffic signs (your words from a previous post, not mine) or do you just hate Bush the same as the liberals do?? Bush is the Commander-in-Chief. He listens to the Generals in the field. Haven't you heard him tell Congress he will not remove the troops until the Generals in the field tell him it is time?
What gives you the right to yell at me? Using all those caps is yelling and quite frankly I should be the one yelling. I'm not. Why? Because even with all my son's problems, he still supports the war and he asked me to continue to support the war. I do. Just not those Generals who stayed in their air conditioning in their safe little green zone to further their own personal power surges.
Well while you continue to TRASH OUR MILITARY I will just make a few things clear I dont hate the presidnet, however I think he ran on the Reagan Conservative message, and then ignored it for 8 years. In my opion, he is a somewhat socially conservative liberal.
You can TRASH OUR TROOPS all you like but he fact Iraq was taken in 23 days. The OVERALL STRATEGY did not account for the INSURGENCY. Geroge Bush is the COMMANDER IN CHIEF. He failed to recognize the Insurgency, even with COLIN POWELL, ERICK SHINSEKI, and even CAPTAIN JOHN MCCAMNESTY, RETIRED tellling him that was possiable.
Youi can SALM OUR WAR EFFORT, but Generals are responsiable for TACTICAL decisions. NOT BROAD STRATEGY, or the "POINT" of an OPERATION. GEROGE BUSH is to BLAME for HIS FAILURE to RECOGNIZE this. and I would much rather attack a SILK SUITED POLITICIAN, then tell FAKE LIES about BRAVE MILITARY COMMANDERS in the FEILD of BATTLE.
If you ACTUALLY HAVE a son and you ACTUALLY MET TOP GENERALS, then you should have MORE RESPECT for OUR MILITARY, who are TRAINED to do a GOOD JOB. BUSH didnt give a DAMN what his generals TOLD HIM. HE DID WHATEVER HE WANTED. Just like how he THREW CONSERVATIVES under the BUS, and supported SOCIALIZED PERSCRIPTION MEDS, and AMNESTY for CRIMINAL IMMIGRANTS. Just like how he continues to allow RAMOS and COMPEAN to sit in PRISON because they are "Racist against hispanics" (even though they are hispanic).

I am sorry if I come across that way. I am just EMPHSIZING what I am TRYING to say. I am not making this personal at all, and I do not intend to sound rude. But you are TRASHING our MILITARY.
And it is 130 digrees in IRAQ. If you had air conditioning you would use it , NO MATTER what our troops were doing.
You know why we have a Second Amendment? In case the government fails to remember the first.- Rush Limbaugh
