Under-age marriage picture wins UNICEF prize
Monday, December 17, 2007






     The image hardly fits our idea of the happy couple's wedding picture - but this haunting photograph taken in Afghanistan graphically captures life for millions of girls given in marriage while under age.


     It shows Mohammed, 40, with his new 11-year-old wife, Ghulam. Taken by US photographer Stephanie Sinclair, it was named Unicef Photo of the Year yesterday.

     Some 60million girls worldwide are married while still under age, according to the children's rights agency.
A picture of a boy lifting bricks on his head in Bangladesh, showing the life of one of the millions exploited as child labour, came second. It was taken by GMB Akash.

     And third prize went to one taken by German photographer Hartmut Schwarzbach. It shows nine-year-old Annalyn celebrating her birthday by jumping on a sofa in the rubbish dump in Manila, Philippines, where she has lived for three years.

But of course, it is Christianity that is the truly vile and anti-female religion that is the problem.

Yes, there are odd-balls everywhere.  The difference that you seem to over look is that these things are the NORM in Islam (except for same-sex marriage which is our lefty-loonatic rage of the year).  

I don't support any of those things.  Your glass house is NOT mine.

"We've got people here-" I didn't say me- in our society (house) who want these perverted things.
I am not afraid of their right to be wrong, because we all benefit from that freedom.
There are plenty of reasons to take out those murderous Radical Islamists which have nothing to do with their perversions. This is just a distraction, IMHO.

I'll type even more slowly for you!  My point had nothing to do with the fact that we have perverts here.  The issue is they are a relative minority here and our culture and society at large do not accept such perversions as "normal."  In Islam, these things are NORMAL.  Get it this time?  Or should I type more slowly for you again?

I wasn't typing slowly for your benefit originally, but am reconsidering as you seem in denial or uninformed about acceptable perversions in our house. Ours, not mine or yours- that's my point.
Maybe you need more than to know they strap bombs onto their kids...

Maybe you have trouble with possessive pronouns.  Speak any English there?  "Ours" is first person plural.  If you say it is “ours” then you are stating it is “yours” and “mine.”  What part of that don’t you get?  And I have had seven friends murdered by these Neolithic monsters so I do know quite a bit about them, chum.  

My house is pervert-free and we don't support those things in MY house.
