Discuss the myth of man-made global warming

An Inconvenient Electric Bill

Postby paleocon on 06/18/08, 10:28 am

Do you get the feeling Al doesn't take the whole "carbon footprint/MMGW" thing seriously?

Oddly enough, it seems Al manages his home exactly like he and Bill managed the government.  After a year's worth of "energy-efficient home renovations" he is using 10% more electricity.  What federal agency runs Al's home?

And ,wow, Mr. Johnson sure seems "harsh."  He must be one of those "Far Right Talk Radio People" I have heard about on other topics.  I wonder if he is a member of the VRWC?  Do you suppose he tortures kittens at  home, too?

Energy Guzzled by Al Gore’s Home in Past Year Could Power 232 U.S. Homes for a Month
Gore’s personal electricity consumption up 10%, despite “energy-efficient” home renovations

NASHVILLE - In the year since Al Gore took steps to make his home more energy-efficient, the former Vice President’s home energy use surged more than 10%, according to the Tennessee Center for Policy Research.

“A man’s commitment to his beliefs is best measured by what he does behind the closed doors of his own home,” said Drew Johnson, President of the Tennessee Center for Policy Research. “Al Gore is a hypocrite and a fraud when it comes to his commitment to the environment, judging by his home energy consumption.”

In the past year, Gore’s home burned through 213,210 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity, enough to power 232 average American households for a month.

Well now, as you have pointed out in a previous post, life altering change to save the world from MMGW is for little people. We cannot reasonably expect that the Important People should practice what they preach. Algore knows better than we do what is good for us.
Be careful what you wish for, .......

But you're forgetting that AlGore buys Carbon Credits to offset his usage.

O.k., so the carbon credits aren't based on any CAP, and are therefore valueless.

O.k., so the carbon credits come from a company planting trees, when they were already going to plant the same number of trees in the ordinary course of their business.

O.k., so the Clearinghouse that AlGore buys the Carbon Credits from is owned by AlGore.

But, STILL, he buys carbon credits -- so everything's o.k., he's not a hypocrite.

Yes, that is algore's plan. He will assuage his guilt by taking his money and giving it to... his company!

It is perception and intent, not actual actions and results that matter in algore's mad world. He wants to save the world therefore anything he does is good and right and acceptable.

The simple fact is that algore is so obviously hypocritical and so obviously profiting enormously from this whole thing and nobody on the left seems to care. Why are algore, both Clintons, and both Obama's able to build huge personal wealth without any question but if the CEO of GE or ExxonMobil gets a bonus he is evil, wicked, capitalist pig, exploiter of the poor and oppressed?

If the left didn't have double standards they'd have no standards at all!

Copying one of my own posts under another topic (bad form? I don't think so):
Who is there to call them on it?  ABC? CBS? NBC? CNN? FoxNews? MSNBC? NYT? Washington Post? LA Times? USAToday? TIME? NewsWeek? 60 Minutes?

Despite our disgust with Republican politicians; it IS true that when Conservative Republican Senators or Congressmen DO speak, the media simply refuses to cover it.  It was never said.  It never happened.

"MiniTrue" is at work.

Where's Dan Rather when you need him?

Alas, the quote does not originate with me.  I don't know where I first heard it but Chris Plante, a morning show talk radio host around here, used it most recently.  Plante isn't Rush (but then again nobody is) but he generally has a point and hammers on Marxist stupidity when he sees it.
