Liberals should be welcomed on this site and allowed to exercise their right of free speech. It allows people to get a view into the torturous labyrinth of the liberal mind. It makes no sense to argue with or confront the liberal with facts or logical reasoning, they just can't THINK the way a conservative can. Their brain wiring does not allow them to process data in a rational fashion.

While I'd really like to say let's ban them, we have the 1st Amendment, Freedom of Speech, which is what we all stand for . It is just like the MSM. We don't have to engage or even read what they write or we can if we want. We also have an ignore button. At any rate, when they do write their tripe, it merely reinforces our conservative principles.

Are they annoying. You bet. Frankly, I've stopped engaging them unless a topic comes up that is just so outrageous I can't let it go.

If there is no engagement, they will simply go away..

Let the Libs come in and post. They don't last long, and it is fun to engage them. The spirit of EIB is never ending education.

I would never want to ban communists from expressing their views.  Typically, it's easy enough to refute them.

However, I have essentially been defeated by Exercitus/Yeti/What.  This is the same guy, signing up under different names.

He has defeated me because each and every one of his posts contain so many ridiculous arguments, bad assumptions, flawed logic, etc., that it simply isn't possible to address them one by one.  In addition, he's quite prolific; so by the time you respond to one post, he's gone on to make 50 more unrelated communist talking points.

There is no debating him.  He is here simply to irk conservatives; and with me - he has succeeded.

His posts actually depress me greatly -- because I know that there are many, many other Americans like him.

I think I just need a vacation.

I share some of the same sentiments as Eyas. I am getting tired of a liberal bouncing in every second or third day only to start the same idiotic rant. I no longer have the patience to deal with the same bone-headed illogic two or three times a week. I just don't have the patience to deal with someone who maintains that A = B ≠ A

This could be eased a bit by a more direct TOS and registration process but that puts the onus on the moderators. Maybe membership could be restricted to a certain set of forums for a specific number of posts or number of days. At that point, even a liberal would have proved himself to be a troll or an actual, thoughtful person intent on intellectual debate. The fact that it has never happened does not mean it cannot happen....

I am not sure what your software can do so it is difficult to make specific suggestions on memberships. But, some limits to membership or at least posting privileges are reasonable. It is not an issue of "censorship" as only governments "censor." It is rather an issue of community standards and you have been gracious enough to seek out our feedback on what might or ought to be acceptable to the community.

The more they are allowed to express their views, it jsut shows people how crazy they are. But restrict them to "LIB" forums.

I think that in the instant case, a simple warning that arguments must address a single issue through to conclusion/resolution would be enough.

Addressing issues/assumptions/presumptions/"facts"/claims one-by-one might at least give sane minds a foothold upon which to base an argument.

I doubt very much that such addled minds would be able to limit their diatribes to one single issue/argument per post (series of posts).

If these liberals can abide by this rule, I see no reason why we can't hear their arguments one at a time and fully flesh-out the flaws in their (and possibly our own) thinking. But this waterfall of a multitude of various and far-ranging leftist talking points in each post -- to the point that the posters can't even be pinned down to an explanation of what they think and why -- is untenable. When a poster throws out 30 unsubstantiated claims in a single post, I may focus on one, Paleo on another, Mum on a third, Bedbug on a fourth, etc. etc.

Pardon my French, but every thread in which these guys (this guy) post(s) becomes a total clusterf@#%!

It's like discussing theoretical physics with a third-grader with ADD. It can't continue as is.

I recommend asking them (him) to limit arguments to one issue/idea at a time. If they (he) cannot -- ban him.

I certainly don't want to be the kind of forum where we FEAR opposing views. We should welcome them, and (I think) have an easy time refuting them. However, a certain type of poster is simply impossible to respond to.

I have not been here long, so I am not sure if i have the clout to post in this topic, but I chose option number three.

I also have not been posting for very long but would like to add my two cents if I may.
Reading others views and thoughts on a subject is what a forum is for. I find that the barrage of statements with colored fonts added to the original post and the constant FACT added to the end of what is supposed to be a sentence annoying. This almost seems as though this is a tactic used by a professional troll. Drive by posting? I am certainly not perfect in my grammar or spelling but I do make the effort to be as clear and factual as I can. I also find it a daunting task to attempt to keep up with this type of poster. Half the time I just give up. It’s not worth my time to try to dispute everything that is claimed as fact or to ferret out what the poster is truly saying. An opinion, although not always agreed with, is one thing but I do not find the constant name calling and twisting of what has been said a valid stimulus for meaningful debate.
I tend to agree with eyes about a warning to the poster who uses this type of tactic. It would allow for disagreement but in a much more civilized and manageable form.
Respectfully,
