Gun on Airplane Shoots Hole in Same

Gun on Airplane Shoots Hole in Same

Evidently the pilot of a commercial aircraft shot a hole through the fuselage of his own aircraft.  News stories state "the pilot of a US Airways plane may have mishandled a firearm that went off in flight, piercing a hole in the cockpit wall, a federal air marshal said Tuesday."

The article further states that "pilots in the program undergo 50 hours of training at the federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Artesia, N.M. Alter said it appears the pilot of the US Airways flight wasn't following "proper procedures. ... We just don't know exactly what procedure wasn't being followed."

I am going to go out on a limb here and state that the procedure most obviously NOT followed was the one where pilots aren't supposed to shoot guns a their own airplanes.   Evidently, this incident is being investigated by the same crack law enforcement team that cracked the Kennedy assissination.  Read the rest here.

If I may:

I was listening to the radio (Conservative talk show) schnittshow.com that guy. He had I believe a FFDO or Federal Flight Deck Officer or maybe an Air Marshal. Not exactly sure which one but he was talking about how his gun has this lock and holster which if your flying at night (making long story short) or if you can't see it well, it can VERY VERY easily misfire. Theres a trigger lock thing like a regular one you can buy at say bass pro shops and he said that when he got the locks. He thought something like this WAS going to happen.

Taylor,

Of course you may.  But that begs the question.  If guns with trigger locks can still go off, very easily, why do we bother with them?  Why do liberals demand them?  And why was someone in the cockpit of a commercial airliner messing around with a gun on a plane in the dark?

This leads to MORE questions rather than fewer.

Liberals always bitch to get their way. Look at a lot of the world. Thank GOD we aren't letting them get their way with the war.
