Gov't Coercion and Baseball

Gov't Coercion and Baseball

Postby dittohead on 02/14/08, 9:23 am

Let's see....

We are fighting a war.  Our economy is 'iffy'.  Illegal aliens continue to pour across our border.  We have a huge amount of unfilled judgships.  There are plenty of legitimate issues for congress to address.

What the heck is congress doing spending their time 'grilling' Roger Clemens?  It's just another example of unnecessary gov't coercion into our lives.

Shh!

We need distractions like this for our current Congress. If they weren't grilling baseball players, they'd be granting amnesty, fighting global warming, and whining about the war.

So we should all be thanking Roger Clemens right now.

Don't forget about my great Senator..Arlen Sphincter and his investigation of the Patriots and the NFL.

I wrote my RINO Congressman, who recently announced he would not seek reelection, the following note regarding this silliness.  Congress just doesn't get it.

Dear Congressman Davis,

Please stop wasting time with pointless hearings on steroids in baseball.
There is so much important work for Congress including tax reform,
immigration, border security, national security, social security reform,
and many, many other urgent topics that it is inconceivable that Congress
is wasting time with this pointless circus.

I don't know what you hope to accomplish with this huge waste of time but
I am tired of such grandstanding and wasting of time when this nation is
faced by a series of problems that Congress continues to ignore.

I did not vote for you to see you waste your time on national television.
This is the equivalent of Nero fiddling while Rome burned.  If this is
what we can expect from you during your remaining year in office, do your
constituents the courtesy of resigning now so we can elect someone who
will work to fix the many problems facing this Republic.

Sincerely,

Paleocon

Oh, btw, I am really tired of this crap and will be telling my congressman every chance I get.

And just in case any body has forgotten:

I WILL NEVER VOTE FOR JOHN MCCAIN!
