Rules for posting in the Rush Limbaugh Fan Forum

These rules are designed to create a civil forum where we can discuss and debate topics in the arena of ideas. These rules may be appended from time to time, so please check back often.

The Golden Rule

This is a conservative forum.  While we are open to liberal/socialist/communist posters, they must respect the fact that the majority of members here are conservative.  We reserve the right to delete any post that isn't respectful of the conservative nature of the forums.  We welcome honest debate that's crafted in an intelligent, meaningful way.  Slanderous comments about Rush Limbaugh, conservatism, or board members will not be tolerated.

General Forum Rules

1. Posts should be made in the most relevant forum. Please read the forum descriptions before posting to make sure you are using the right forum. Users who consistently post in the wrong forums may be given a warning.
2. Posts should be respectful of other users.  We will not tolerate personal attacks or flaming.
3. Posts should not contain obscene or offensive material. This board serves a general audience.
4. Members are expected to respect copyright laws and not re-print articles without permission from the original author. This includes news articles, web site postings, or audio/video media files.
5. Members should post utilizing standard writing techniques. Please make limited use of bold, highlighting, emoticons, font size, uppercase letters, excessive punctuation. These are all good tools when used in moderation.
6. Topic titles should be related to the topic that follows.  Content of postings should be related to the topic subject.  Veering off topic makes it too difficult to carry on a dialogue.
7. SPAM posts are strictly prohibitted.  If you are in doubt, please ask a moderator.
8. Our moderators reserve the right to edit or delete posts that don't comply with the forum rules. Repeat offenders will be formally warned.
9. Usernames that impersonate someone famous are not allowed and will be banned.   Example (GeorgeBush....)

Avatars & Signatures

9. Users may upload their own avatars (a small image that appears with your posts), provided the avatar is not larger than 100x100 pixels, and under 7kb in filesize.
10. Avatars should not portray any official forum status such as 'admin' or 'moderator'.
11. Avatars should not include obscene or disturbing imagery.
12. If you link to your avatar from another server and the server is frequently down, we reserve the right to remove the avatar.
13. Users may create a signature that goes at the bottom of their posts. Signatures are limited to 5 lines of text or an image no larger than 468px wide x 60px high.
14. Signature text should not exceed 100%, the default text size, and no color or bold formatting should be used.
15. Signatures should not utilize highlighting or emoticons.
16. Signatures should not contain links to sites that promote illegal activity.

Policing the forums

17. These forums will be actively moderated to insure that the above rules are met. We will utilize a three strike policy for minor violations.  Each user committing a violation will be issued a formal warning. If a user reaches three warnings during a year they will be removed from the site.
18. For serious violations including copyright violation, obscenity, or personal attacks, we reserve the right to use temporary or permanent bans immediately.
19. Any attempt to circumvent a temporary ban will result in a permanent ban.

If you have any questions regarding these rules, please send a PM to the admin.  Thanks in advance for your support!
