You bet.  Does the massive development of the big island of Hawaii over the last 50 years affect CO2 concentrations at the point of measurement? You bet.

Ask him if he knows what data the IPCC estimates of sea level rise were based on?  Answer: millimeter level changes in tidal measurements in the "Low Countries" of Europe, that are not only sparse and unreliable, but also cover only abbout 40 years.  More importantly, how big are millimeter changes in sea level over decades?  Answer: the earthquake that caused the 2004 Tsunami, moved the entire sea floor upwards by 5 meters in mere seconds. Taking time into account this single event moved a huge portion of the Earth's crust by many orders of magnitude more that the laughable millimiter tidal data that IPCC used to exrapolate sea level rise.  What's the point?  The point is that the IPCC data DO NOT actually measure sea level.  They measure sea level relative to land level, which can be changed by much more than a few millimeters by even small tectonic movements.  Sounds strange, but ask any geologist and they'll tell you that earthquakes and tectonic movements are not limited to catastrophic events.  Wherever you are, the ground underneath you is always moving.  And by more than just a few millimeters.
