Dutch politician Geert Wilders' much anticipated anti-Islamisation film "Fitna" finally hit the fan, um.. I mean, the internet.

After America-based Network Solutions pulled the website reserved for the film as a result of complaints from Muslims -- before the website even had any content other than "Fitna -- coming soon" or something like that.

It was released the other night on several websites independently, including LiveLeak.com.  You can google it to find it somewhere.

I actually found it rather tame and anti-climactic after all of it's pre-release hubbub and pre-emptive condemnation.  Still, it's worth watching.  Unless, of course, you believe that the Islamic faith does NOT have, as one of it's primary goals, any desire for global domination.  In that case, you should UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WATCH THIS FILM!  Remain in your cocoon of inevitable dhimmitude.

Anyone else have any thoughts on the film, the hysteria preceding it, or any future "unrest", riots, etc?

It may still work or maybe not.  I've learned that LiveLeak.com has joined the ranks of The Once and Future Dhimmis, and pulled the movie from their site due to complaints of "offended" Muslims.

The Internet -- the last bastion of Free Speech.   Riiiiight!

I watched the film and cringed a few times at the wanton violence perpetrated by some Muslims in the name of jihad.

Muslim nations condemn Dutch Koran film

AMSTERDAM (Reuters) - Muslim nations on Friday condemned a film by a Dutch lawmaker that accuses the Koran of inciting violence, and Dutch Muslim leaders urged restraint.

First, the Dutch lawmaker's film does NOT accuse the Koran of inciting violence.  The narrator reads numerous passages from the Koran THAT INCITE VIOLENCE IN THE NAME OF AND ON BEHALF OF ISLAM.  

Geert Wilders, leader of the anti-immigration Freedom Party, launched his short video on the Internet on Thursday evening, prompting an al Qaeda-linked website to call for his death and increased attacks on Dutch soldiers in Afghanistan.

Profound irony and hypocrisy!  Muslims are afraid the movie will paint them as violent extremists.  So theIr response is to call for the murder of a Dutch civilian and increased attempts to kill Dutch soldiers in the name of protecting Islam, the Prophet and the Koran.  

"The correct Sharia (Islamic law) response is to cut (off) his head and let him follow his predecessor, van Gogh, to hell," a member of Al-Ekhlaas wrote on the al-Qaeda affiliated forum, according to the SITE Institute, a U.S.-based terrorism monitoring service.

The same extremists then point out the correct, institutional Islamic response is to murder the film maker.  

Well, it is obviously clear that the problem is not the people urging, and even demanding, yet more murder and mayhem.  The problem is the Dutch film maker who pointed out that Muslims are doing so on a daily basis in response to every real or imagined "insult to Islam."  Make a film?  Off with your head!  Name a stuffed animal Mohammed?  Of with your head!  Sit on the wrong train in Madrid or wrong bus in London?  Blow them up!  

I'll believe that Islam isn't the problem when the Imams in London, Amsterdam and Falls Church stand up and demand an end to the murders committed by Muslims and stop justifying those murders by quoting from the Koran.  

Just another day in "the religion of peace."

Catchy ain't it?

Amazing MUSLIM synopsis of the Wilders film.  I am not sure of his intent but he pointed out the obvious association of the Koran and violence.  

Omar Bakri, the Libyan-based radical Muslim cleric who is barred from Britain, did not think the film was very offensive. "On the contrary, if we leave out the first images and the sound of the page being torn, it could be a film by the [Islamist] Mujahideen," he said. [...]

Why do Muslims get so angry and consider it so offensive when people read certain verses of the Quran?

I downloaded Fitna as soon as it was available, because I was afraid it would get shut down.  LiveLeak did remove it, but it's pretty much all over the torrent universe, so I don't think it's going to disappear.

You are the second person to recommend Ben Stein's new movie.  I'll have to look for it soon.  But don't tell any public school teachers.

I found it on www.atlasshrugs.com.  I found it to be disturbing and scarey, but something that should be watched.  The left is minimizing the threat..Kumbaya.  My largest hope is that they will be the first to go when Islamofacism returns to our shores enmass.
