I get torn between these possibilties:

1) They are naive and actually think what they are doing will work (Ignoring the fact that socialism has failed every time its been tried)

• This also assumes that they don't understand 'how' we became the most powerful and wealthy nation on the face of the earth.  I guess they think we were just lucky.

2) They know exactly what they are doing, and know full well that it won't work.

• No clue why any American would want to destroy their own nation.  There are too many of them to assume they were all planted here decades ago to carry out this plan.  However if any other nation in the world wanted to destroy us, seeding us with communist thoughts and letting us destroy ourselves from within is really the only way.

Some leftists are naive, having been brainwashed since their earlist formative years into believing that there are no absolutes in life; that what virtually everyone with common sense understands to be obviously good, really isn't, and that what is notoriously bad is never as wicked as it's made out to be. These are the fools among us... the sheep... the necessary idiots.

Other leftists are indeed devious. They denounce America and all it has ever stood for, for no other reason than it is personally advantageous for them to do so. Some would call these individuals merely selfish, but I do not. They are damnable. They glom onto evil concepts in much the same way that a stud poker-player embraces three aces... fully and without regret. If the opportunity presented itself, they would sell their immortal souls for the opportunity to dominate their fellow man for one extra minute, and still they call themselves "liberals."

[SIZE=9pt]I think neocon makes a great deal of sense.  Most liberals are people who are ruled by their emotions.  If it tugs at their hearts then they pay attention.  Society has been turning out these people for decades thanks to the main stream media and public education.  They are sheep and easily motivated by the "cause-du-jour."

[SIZE=9pt]Then there are the devious ones who have an agenda to move the country as far to the left as quickly as possible.  Ted Kennedy and Bill and Hill Clinton are clearly in this group.  They dream of remaking America into their communist paradise.

[SIZE=9pt]Frankly, Obama, Biden, Hart and others like them seem to be too vapid to be truly devious.  Not that they don't bear some of the responsibility for damaging America and hurting people economically and socially.  They may just assume the truly devious people leading the charge aren't as determined to be communists as they say they are.  I guess these are the "fellow travelers" that Lenin spoke of...
