Conservatives should be concerned about government spying

You're absolutely right!  There's hypocrisy on both sides, but on this issue in particular the Democrat hypocrisy is so blatant and transparent it's ridiculous.  I think of the Echelon program every time I hear a Leftist cry about how our civil liberties are under attack by the Bush Admin. -- what a crock!

I can remember in the 90's discussing with friends and in a casual and off-hand way recognizing that our phone conversations were being listened to by the NSA for mentions of "keywords" like using the words "bomb" and "The President" together.  I had no idea if this was true.  If that was actually how it worked. But I didn't give it too much thought -- mostly because I was a stupid college kid and I didn't "awaken" politically until after 9/11.  But the point is that everyone seemed to know or suspect that this might be happening and no one was up in arms about it.

Like most Leftist arguments, it's all hype based on b.s.

Nevertheless, when I think about a Hillary Clinton Presidency I have visions of Orwell's "1984".  I even get nervous about how proposed security cameras on city streets (like those in London) could be abused & misused by a Commie like Clinton.  Hey, call me paranoid, but that woman scares me.

Eyas:

You're not paranoid. Rest assured, any liberal within insult throwing range will call you anything but a child of God and would have the opinion that you have lost your mind. I'm in the same room with you, and though I do fear what the liberal Socialists want to turn this country into, my fear of Hillary Clinton is no so profound. I know you understand what she's trying to do and using the media to shield her agenda.

seems like every excuse under the sun and then some, has been used to keep them from releasing the records she kept as first lady and any of the other  Clinton Administration papers. Rose Law Firm billing records found with her signature and fingerprints all over them, yet she testified under oath that they didn't exist and (if they did) she knew nothing of there whereabouts. I believe that's perjury. Oh, but of course a deal was cut to keep the "pantsuit" out of an orange jumpsuit.

I remember well George Orwell's 1984. I remember Ayan Rand's "Anthem" and Masamune Shirow's "Appleseed" books 1&2 the promethean challenge and prometheus Unbound. These books focused seriously on socialism.
Yes the Appleseed series is a comic but the story nevertheless is compelling and I recognized the comparisons with it's "Council of Seven" with the ruling "Council" in "Anthem." These are things that liberals ignore and dismiss just as they ignored the threat of radical Islam against this country. furthermore, not only did they ignore it, they encouraged it's growth with their toothless policies, appeasements and lack of attention. The result of those actions and those policies is the war we are fighting right now. They will NEVER accept responsibility for what they have done.

The Clinton Crime consortium will continue along with the willing obediance of the mainstream media. The liberals scream and howl about Government spying but with the white house being headed up by a Democrat, the issue of Government spying will not be an issue nor will it be mentioned by the press.

You can put money on that.
