Combating Hillary's Inevitability

Combating Hillary's Inevitability

If the mainstream media are to be believed, Republicans had best save themselves the money and concede the 2008 election now. Hillary Clinton is going to win, it's inevitable.

If battle-weakened conservatives are to be believed, journalists and critics, and anyone who knows better are best served by the admonition to Leave Hillary Alone.

The American Spectator was, once, brought to the brink of ruin as a byproduct of investigating the Clintons. Filegate, meanwhile, showed that the Clintons have no compunction about making life uncomfortable for their political enemies. Said Congressman Dan Burton regarding a Clinton administration probe into his finances: "I had to spend over $100,000 on two lawyers to make sure I wasn't railroaded."

Message: If you come after Hillary, it's going to cost you.

Enter Brent Bozell III, a man not afraid to pay the price for speaking truth to power. When Bozell, as head of the Parents Television Council, decided that Vince McMahon's World Wrestling Entertainment shows were too raunchy for prime time, he contacted WWE's advertisers directly, telling them to run far and fast.

Three and a half million dollars, a formal apology, and five years later, Bozell has moved on from the PTC and set his sights on the mainstream media, specifically the preferential treatment it bestows upon the junior senator from New York. His newest effort, Whitewash, highlights the media's unwillingness to portray Clinton in balanced fashion.

Ironically, HRC herself may be the biggest factor in undermining the "inevitable."

It all started with that debate question about drivers licenses in NY.  That really made her stumble.  And then the obvious plants in Republican and Democrat debates.  Followed by the incredibly lame attacks on Obama because of his kindergarten papers and ultimately capped by the even more incredibly stupid non-attack attacks on Obama's drug record!

In a few weeks she has made herself look awful with very little help from anyone else.  In fact, she was doing such a good job pushing herself under the bus that Edwards and Obama just kept their mouths shut and watched her do the dirty work on herself.

Not a bad months work for the smartest woman in the world...

Suddenly, she isn't so inevitable...

I think after next Tuesday she will appear to be even less inevitable.  However, she will continue to be annoying for a very long time as I suspect her NY Senate seat is pretty safe.

Well, she might have a trap set there if any republican were to run against her for that seat. Shes a criminal and HES a criminal, he got impeached from the white house and hes the MAN of the family I think we both know where this would go anyway. I'll start making the impeach clinton stickers.

Actually, I don't understand where you are going with this.  Hillary might still win the nomination in 2008.  But even if she doesn't she will be a senator until 2012.  So we will be stuck with her for a long time.  However, I wonder if she will feel a need for Bill if she doesn't get the nomination this year.  He has been something less than ideal when he is out on the trail!

Short and to the point.  We want the stickers!  But, wait until after the SC primary before you print up a bunch of "Impeach the Clinton" stickers.  We may not need them after all...

Yes that is true, in that case, where should I get the stickers if I need to get them?
