Choose Your Write-in Candidate if McCain Wins the Nomination

Postby paleocon on 01/26/08, 3:28 am

I don't think it likely but should McCain win the GOP nomination who shall true conservatives write-in on their ballots instead of having to vote for John "The Arrogant" McCain?

Choose any two of the following and God Speed!

You are gonna need it if McCain gets the nomination!

Well, I suggested both Daffy Duck and some guy named "Palecon".

Dude, you have to go back & edit your own name!

Seriously though, since I've got time on my hands, I plan to call in to Rush, Hannity, Beck, Levin, Ingraham, Savage, and any other conservative radio shows I can think of to suggest this write-in campaign if McCain gets the nomination.

I hope that others will do the same, AND pass the suggestion along to any other conservative forums that you may be a member of.

Shows what YOU KNOW!  "Palecan" is a Native American leader who led the final charge against the Viet Cong at the Battle of the Bulge and won the Croix de Guerre for his actions.  You conservatives are always so smug.  Look it up on the internet.  Do you expect me to be your slave and post links to everything.  I mean this is settled history and has been peer reviewed too!

He had an Hawaiian brother named "Paleale."  He had a beer named after him.

Well, either that or I should avoid posting stuff at 2:00 a.m....

Jeb Bush - Only If He comes down hard on Illegal Immigration, ( I'm guessing the most Conservative of the Bush's). Tom Delay (Paybacks are a 8itch). Robert Bork ( Do I see the Red Sea Parting).

John Thune. I sort of adopted Him, after being abused by Schumer and Clinton. ....I don't like to talk about it, it hurts my tummy when I even think about what they do...what they have done.... I'd rather just forget, the nightmares are the worst part of it .....The Horror, If only I could forget...   Anyway, When I donate to the cause, I think John Thune. Tom Daschle Nightmares are long gone now.

January 22nd, 2008 - Washington, D.C. - The non-partisan Congressional Management Foundation today released the detailed results of their survey of all Congressional websites, where it was announced that Senator Thune's official website, http://www.thune.senate.gov, was ranked number one out of 99, making it the highest rated website of any individual Senator in the United States Senate. The top ranking earned Senator Thune's website the prestigious Gold Mouse Award.

That is interesting.  I knew John Thune about 15 years ago when he worked in DC as a staffer.  He and his wife are great people.  I have hopes for Senator Thune and agree he has potential.

In all seriousness, I think Reagan is the right choice.

I've never written-in a candidate before; is there some way to make sure that all conservative votes for Ronald Reagan get counted?  Will these votes just be tossed out?

Yes, I think Reagan is still the best choice.  But, to expect that they will actually count votes is a bit naive in this day and age, isn't it.

Normally, write-ins are such a small number of votes the get lumped in to the "other" category when votes are reported.  I have written in several names over the last few years in local elections.

The site "Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler" at  http://www.nicedoggie.net/2008  had the same idea, and suggests writing in Fred Thompson.

I'm going to join the "Write-In Fred" coalition (presuming McCain wins the nomination)
