I could be wrong, but I don't think the U.S. gets a hugely significant amount of oil from Chavez.  

Either way, he'd harm himself more than the U.S. if he did this.

He's a pissant, tin-pot dictator who really doesn't matter to anyone other than himself, Danny Glover, and Sean Penn.

I guess everybody forgets that they have to sell their oil to someone.  If we can't buy from them we can buy from someone else.  It will just cause a huge "shell game" that bothers everybody in the short term.  

They can't very well stop selling oil for an extended time and just sit on it.  Eventually, they would have to stop pumping when the ran out of storage and that would affect refining, shipping, etc.  Naturally, it hurts us in the short-term, but if a huge percentage of their GNP suddenly stops because they won't sell oil their economy hurts too.  

One country threatening us shouldn't overly concern us.  All countries threatening a boycott of sales is a bigger problem.

Hugo's new name is: HUGE BUTT CAMEL. Instead of Hugo Chavez. Don't ask me how, but I thought of a new nickname for him


Anyway, that'll just show how stupid he is if he cuts off our oil.

I read an article that said Venezuelan oil is so dirty that only a few refineries can refine it and we have most of the  few refineries  capable of the process.

Does anyone else notice a more than passing resemblance?

There is a brief video clip of Mussolini making almost the exact same face after delivering a speech but I can't find it.

Chavez has only cut off oil to Exxon.  He owns CITGO and you don't see any of them closing.  He's attempting to wage war on Columbia right now so he's a little bit preoccupied.

Wait until the next Dubai suddenly appears in Canada.  And all of those loans for those 1000 foot indoor ski slopes in Dubai are shortchanged.  They'll be blaming a small ski town called Rossland in the Great White north.
