Change Change and More Change

Change Change and More Change

Postby SoldiersMum on 04/26/08, 11:29 am

Change!  Change!  and more Change!
In just one year.  Remember the election in 2006?   Thought you might like to read the following:

A little over one year ago:

1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
3) The unemployment rate was 4.5%.

Since voting in a Democratic Congress in 2006 we
have seen:

1) Consumer confidence plummet;

2) The cost of regular gasoline approaching  $4.00 a
gallon;

3) Unemployment is now over 5% (a 10+% increase);

4) American households have seen $2.3 trillion in
equity value evaporate (stock and mutual fund losses);

5) Americans have seen their home equity drop by
$1.2 trillion dollars;

6) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.

America voted for change in 2006, and we got it!

Remember it's Congress that makes law not the
President. He has to work with what's handed to him.

            Quote of the Day........"My friends, we live in the
greatest nation in the history of the world.  I hope you'll join with me as
we try to change it."

Taxes...Whether Democrat or a Republican you will
find these statistics enlightening and amazing.

+ Taxes under Clinton 1999
-  Taxes under Bush 2008

+ Single making 30K - tax $8,400
- Single making 30K - tax $4,500

+ Single making 50K - tax $14,000
- Single   making 50K - tax $12,500

+
  Single making 75K - tax $23,250
  -
Single   making 75K - tax $18,750

+
Married making 60K - tax $16,800
-
Married   making 60K- tax $9,000

+
Married making 75K - tax $21,000
-
Married   making 75K - tax $18,750

+
Married making 125K - tax $38,750
-
Married making   125K - tax $31,250

Both democratic candidates will return to the higher
tax rates and even increase those rates to pay for their entitlements.

It is amazing how many people that fall into the
categories above think Bush is screwing them and Bill Clinton was the
greatest President ever. If Obama or Hillary are elected, they both say they
will repeal the Bush tax cuts and a good portion of the people that fall
into the categories above can't wait for it to happen. This is like the
movie The Sting with Paul Newman; you scam somebody out of some money and
they don't even know what happened.

You think the war in Iraq is costing us too much?  Read
this:

Boy, am I confused.  I have been hammered with the
propaganda that it is the Iraq war and the war on terror that is bankrupting
us. I now find that to be RIDICULOUS.

Fantastic facts, Mum!

I've always been amused by this Democrat "Change" mantra.  Change for the sake of change.  Even "Change" for the worse is apparently to be desired by Democrats.

I have a friend (acquanintance) who thinks that our government, above all, needs the "change" promised by Obama.  I recently asked this liberal acquaintance of mine this question, "If someone stopped at your door and offerred to give your house a new paint-job for free; is there anything that you might want to ask before accepting the offer?"

After making clear that the hypothetical house was indeed in need of paint, and that the hypothetical painter was truly going to paint the house for free, my acquaintance said, "Of course I'd accept the free paint-job.  No, I don't have any other questions."

When I congratulated my acquaintance on his freshly-painted all black house with black trim, he (like most liberals) simply didn't comprehend what I saying.  When I explained that he had accepted a free paint-job without any concern for the color that the house would be painted; this (all too typical) lib said, "Well, of course I would have made sure that the house wasn't painted black."

This obvious lunacy makes me reconsider the severity of liberalism as a mental disorder.  The liberal mindset apparently includes an inability to understand the unidirectional nature of time.  Anything intended, though not specified or logically consistent with reality, will (in the liberal mind) become fact simply based on good intentions.  No need to ensure the proper outcome.  No need to assess potential consequences of action.

This is consistent with the facts presented by Mum.  Regardless of the actual results of tax policy, the intended results will inevitably result simply from the desires/intentions of liberals.  The past doesn't matter.  Repeated examples of the failures of socialist policies are irrelevant.  By taking the same failed actions over again, there will somehow (this time) be the appropriate results based on pure intentions.

The facts laid out by Mum show clearly the truth of the phrase (I forget who first said it) that insanity can be defined as doing the same thing over & over and expecting a different result.

In other words, Mum has here given us empirical proof that liberalism is a form of insanity.

Welcome back, Eyas!  I have missed you.

This is the very definition of insanity.  Continue to do the same thing and hope for, or expect, a different outcome dispite all experience to the contrary.

You just don't get it I see. We must hope for change, and change for hope, and hope for hope, and change for change. And of course we must always hope for change of hope. I hope this clarifies the issue.
Be careful what you wish for, .......

Holy cow!  I think I wrote the exact same thing in another topic!  Great minds think alike.  I'll search for the other post and link to it.
