Cap and Trade: How Much Will it Cost Us?

Cap and Trade: How Much Will it Cost Us?

Cap and trade sounds like another government scam to jack up the price of energy and jack up the price of all consumer goods while doing nothing to create more energy. The country will soon come to a standstill with rationing of power and rolling blackouts all across the nation. It sounds like the precurser to the UN deciding winners and losers in the global economy.

If China and India are not in on it logic follows that the majority of jobs will flee to those countries and pollution instead of being cut will rise at unprecedented  levels. The US uses the most energy but we are also the most efficent at using it. This is more proof that the global warming scare is a fraud.

These politicians pushing this have lost touch with the common man, we are already facing  mandatory healthcare, increased taxes for infrastucure and exploding retirement costs for state and federal budgets which we know will be passed on to all of us with higher taxes and 'fees'. The average household is having trouble making ends meet with rising energy, healthcare and food prices, this plan sounds like insanity as it will  add to the foreclosure crisis which is on the brink of leading to an economic meltdown already.

Older people on fixed incomes and the welfare state will be hit the hardest and the average Joe will never be able to save money for a house or retirement which will add more liablility on the next generation.

I would say that these politicans have not only lost touch with the comman man, but reality.

I've always considered cap & trade systems to be a good thing.  More flexible, especially for smaller businesses, than just a cap.  The problem for me has always been where the cap is set.

The most amazing thing to me is the supposed "carbon offset" trading system.  Without a cap, a pollution trading system isn't a trading system at all.  It's simply way for cunning entrepreneurs to steal money from fools.  I have GOT to find a way to get in on this.  Selling "carbon offsets", which, because there is no cap, have zero inherent value, to Leftist fools to assuage their unnecessary guilt.

I mean, c'mon.  You don't have to prove to anyone that you're actually reducing any carbon emissions; or you can claim to be reducing carbon by doing things you already do; there's no balance/equation required to determine how much carbon you must reduce vs. how many "carbon offsets" the Lefty customer buys; there's nothing to say how much you can charge.  It's a license to steal from "watermelon" morons.  It's a flawless, and totally LEGAL scam.  I definitely have to get in on this "market".
