Young Taylor may prove to be an able prognosticator.  Aviation is still not terribly secure.  Private aviation is even less secure and may be unsecurable over the long run.

And I fear it is only a matter of time until someone wearing a bomb explodes in a crowded area.  It is hard to explain why someone hasn't done this already in one or more malls around the US.   It can't be that difficult to do.  But I hope I am proven wrong on all counts.

I agree there Paleocon. I know most plots have been foiled it astounds me that one day someone wouldn't just wake up and do it. Based on what I've seen. Thank God I guess DHS and all the other security forces for the homeland are doing their part, thanks guys!

Yes, those guys at TSA are "doing their job" by consistently picking out old grannies and decorated WW2 veterans for extra screening so they can usher any one who vaguely looks like one of the 19 hijackers from 9/11 through security without a second glance.  "I'm from the government and I'm here to help."

I couldn't agree more. Many have forgotten just how patient our enemies are. Sure, we have taken the fight to a lot of terrorists on their own ground, but we have probably had a lot of terrorists already within our borders even before 9/11 and all they are doing is waiting. Waiting, waiting. Because they know that an attack on American soil is only effective when least expected. And we're not  as easy to attack as Israel. So when they hit us, they know they have to hit hard. The last time they did it, they brought down two skyscrapers on the same morning. Who could possibly guess what they have in store for us? Like yourself, I too don't want to sound like an alarmist, but I'm very much afraid for our kids in school. Remember that poor school in Russia? Schools in America aren't that hard to waltz into with an arsenal of weapons, after all, kids do it here all the time. That said, Osama bin-Laden has PROMISED to make 9/11 look like a walk in the park. I think it's safe to take him at his word.

I'm one of those grannies who was wanded not once but twice and felt up before they changed the rules.  I guess they were looking for the glock I was packing in my bra or something.  Actually, I really didn't mind.  They have a job to do and while I don't exactly look like a terrorist, who knows, I am of the hippie, communist  baby boomer era and I could be a threat.

Actually, I think we could be remarkably easy to hit again.  When you think of our super malls like the Mall of America or the Mall in Chicago at Christmas time, the casualties would be huge, plus how about a Superbowl game or any game(s) in various sports that attrack lots of people.  The schools are very susceptible.  Our soldiers found blueprints for some of our schools in Iraq in an Al-Qaida camp and a large number of school buses went missing in Texas.  It's a frightful thought.  One thing that is certain..it's not if but when and it will be huge.  Bin Laden has received permission from the Mullahs to kill millions of Americans and he has warned us more than the 3 requisite times.

Nancy Pelosi shut down the wiretapping bill which makes us more vulnerable; but I somehow do not think they will do anything until after the elections because they want the democrats to win.  Hitting us prior to the election will send the citizens into the voting booth to vote for all the R's they can.  Just my gut feeling.

Plutarch warned, "The real destroyer of the liberties of the people is he who spreads among them bounties, donations and benefits."

We had several scares involving our small, private Christian school a couple of years ago.  Then everything has been quiet.  Frankly, too quiet.  They caught a couple of idiots running up the interstate with bombs in their cars a few years ago, and they have made a few small busts over the last few years but I don't think we are so smart that we have shut them down completely.  And I don't think we can keep a secret well enough to keep the Dems from blowing the lid off any truly effective program.  So, it stands to reason that they are still out there working hard to hurt us in a big way.

Something like Beslan would seem pretty easy to pull off.  If a kid can walk into a university and kill 40 students, why can't a terrorist?  And if some loony can shoot up a mall or a McDonalds so can Ocama's buddies.  If they can blow up metro in London and Madrid why not in NYC or Boston or DC?  I suspect the only reason they haven't is because they haven't decided it is time yet.

I sure hope I am wrong.  I hope there is some government agency that the Dems don't know about listening in to a lot of phone calls and watching a lot of bank transfers.  And I hope there are a lot of "unknown subjects" at Gitmo.  But, I don't have any reasonable expectations that our government could run or keep secret such a project.

Concealed carry.  Our last best hope.
