We can't drill our way out of this

What did they say and where did they say it?

We can't drill our way out of this

From a website called Baldilocks that I was directed to:

June 17, 2008
A Month in the Life of a Bogus Democrat Meme

Various Democrats parroting the talking points on solving the gasoline crisis:

"We can't drill our way out of this." Senator Richard Durbin (D-IL), US Senate, Party Whip, 5/13/2008.

"We can't drill our way out of this." Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL), US House of Representatives, roughly 5/23/2008 on FBC's Cavuto On Business.

"We can't drill our way out of this." Senator Harry Reid (D-NV), US Senate, Majority Leader, 6/10/2008.

"We can't drill our way out of this." Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), US House of Representatives, Speaker of the House, 6/12/2008.

"We can't drill our way out of this." Senator Patty Murray, US Senate, 6/13/2008.

"We can't drill our way out of this." Senator Barack Obama (D-IL), US Senate, 2008 Democrat Nominee for President of the United States, 6/13/2008.

"We can't drill our way out of this." Senator Byron Dorgan (D-ND), US Senate, 6/15/2008 on FNC's Fox News Sunday.

"We can't drill our way out of this." Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA), US House of Representatives, 6/16/2008 on FNC's Hannity & Colmes.

"We can't drill our way out of this." Bob Beckel, Liberal political commentator, 6/17/2008 on FNC's Fox and Friends.

These aren't the droids drillings you're looking for.

Well. It's nice to see that all the players have learned their line well, but rote repetition of a falsehood or an unproven assertion doesn't increase its truth quotient. Its truthiness quotient is another story, however.

by the way, I HATE the word "meme".  I'm not sure why.

Gee, I never got the memo. A memo about a meme? I kind of like the word "meme."

For all those illegitimate journalists and folks who seem to have a minimal vocabulary and lack spellcheckers, the word is pronounced "meem."

I wonder who will need "gravitas" during this election?

Obama knows the word..he can speak all languages just like the real Messiah, especially French.  That's why on the Magical Mystery Tour he spoke to everyone in their native tongues and gave his German speech in German.  He didn't? Oh.  Nevermind.....I've gotta go bone up on my Spanish now.
We've got to do a better job of getting across that America is freedom--freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of enterprise. And freedom is special and rare. It's fragile; it needs protection.

Ironically, the only thing that is totally clear is that we MUST drill our way out of this.  The sooner the better.  There is NO alternative fuel on the horizon that will make any significant impact over the next 2 or 3 years at the very least.  The only thing we can do is start drilling.  To delay will only make things even worse in 2 to 5 years.

Drill here.  Drill now.
