Bush Calls Rush

Bush Calls Rush

Postby dittohead on 04/21/08, 8:10 am

Last Thursday evening, Rush sent an email message to the White House.  He requested that President Bush call the show to discuss the White House's reception to Pope Benedict XVI.

GWB called Rush in the first hour of the Friday show and they had an upbeat exchange discussing the Marine chorus and band's performance of 'The Battle Hymn of the Republic'.  Rush is one voice who continues to remind us what is 'right' about our country.

How many radio hosts can command an audience with the President?

I'm not a Catholic, but it was also encouraging to see the Pope's trip such getting huge crowds and strong media coverage, as it underscores that our country is not yet ready to completely ban religion from the public square.

You are not allowed to say nice things about the Pope!  Didn't you read Bill Maher's notes?

He is white, European and he believes in G*d!  We can't have people like that running around as they will destroy our country, establish a religion and make people feel guilty.  Haven't you heard of separation of state and religion?  If we can't have "In G*d We Trust" on our money we certainly can't have a man talking about G*d in our capital.  It will take years of therapy to undo all the trauma this one event has caused Barry W. Lynn.
He has all the virtues I dislike and none of the vices I admire.
