Bill Buckley Passes Away

Bill Buckley Passes Away

Postby paleocon on 02/27/08, 6:35 pm

America suffered a great loss today when Bill Buckley passed away.  He may be the greatest American intellect of this century.  His loss will be keenly felt as conservatives seek to pick up the ashes of the GOP and decide where to go from here.  His insight and convictions and dedication to conservative principles will be sorely missed.
He has all the virtues I dislike and none of the vices I admire.

He was a giant in a time when conservatives were hard to come by.  He elevated the ideals of conservatism with his wit, humor, and intelligence, and never passed on the opportunity to educate the libs with logic over their emotion.   There are some clips of him in our videos section that demonstrate how articulate and passionate he was.  He will be sorely missed.

When Buckley began his career he was demonized and put down. Just like Joe McCarthy and Ronald Reagan, he persevered through the smears to live up to his calling.

Would that more conservatives had the gumption to be like him.
