Should we apply the same standard here that Bill O'Reilly and Rush did when they went after Jamie Lynn Spears' parents?  Rush said "the parents here are the culprits".   Is this different because the daughter is related to a now-major politician instead of a pop princess?  Your comments?

Limbaugh: I would certainly hope so, but it’s long past time for this to happen. The parents here are the culprits!

Unfair.  Remember, the Great Obamessiah has claimed his family to be off limits.  It should be so for both sides.

oreilly and Rush were obviously wrong to do that.  Sometimes they make mistakies.  Im sure that Rush knows he was wrong and has since said so.

Remember Britney Spears and her massive amount of problems, preceded her sister with problems. Had Brittney not been such a mess, her sister's pregnancy probably never would have even been discussed.  It is logical to wonder about their parenting; however, their father finally got it right and helped both of them.

Remember also that neither parent of Britney Spears or her sister was or is running for Vice President.  This is like comparing apples to oranges.  Gee duh, is your conclusion that because the criticism of the parenting of a celebrity makes it right to make up the swill the left has been throwing at Gov Palin?  The left is unhinged.  Are lies just ok when they are spewed by the left as long as they produce body blows?

You're right, Mum.That makes it all the more important. I know you guys hate me, but BurgerMeister has a valid point. Our GOP better hope they can keep this low key. Bristol's unwed teen pregnancy is not "made up swill". It's real. That's why I'm betting that Palin gets dumped late in the race and McCain chooses a black guy for veep so they don't lose the lefty Hillary voters back to the Dems.

That's not going to happen, Rabid.  It's already out.  She's pregnant.  Everyone knows it.  What else can they say about it?  It's the rest of the swill I was really addressing.  Like the daughter is the mother of the baby, like Palin caused her downs syndrome baby because of her pre-natal care, and there just tons of other swill out there.  It's the Sal Alinsky method straight from his Rules for Radicals.  Paralyze your Opponent with slime and while they are defending themselves, slime them some more.  She didn't put up with them in her speech.  She didn't spend time addressing the garbage.  Good on her!

You don't get it.  Its not about who the pregnant child is related to.  Its about invading the privacy of a young monther.  Does Jamie Lynn Spears really deserve any less respect than Bristol Palin?  If you believe so, thats so sad. You also miss that Jamie Lee was not a celeb when she was harrassed by these two pundits.  Her sister was.

Further, you argue my point.  If its valid to suspect the parents of Jamie Leel, its valid to suspect that of Ms Palin.  In fact its importance is magnified due to the importance of the office.  I don't really care if some pop star's parents are lousy.  i do care if the parent is my Vice President.

You seem to want it both ways.  We can harass a pregnant teenager as long as she isn't related to our candidate.  At which point it becomes unfair.

I never saw the link on the alleged remarks of Rush's.    This whole topic is the heighth of hypocrisy considering the number the main stream media has been doing on this family non stop since McCain named her as his choice.
