Does anyone remember this video of Jason Mattera of the Young Americans Foundation confronting Murtha as he got in an elevator?

http://hotair.com/archives/2007/09/18/hot-air-tv-rep-jack-murtha-confronted-about-haditha-accusations/

After Murtha mutters something about the trial not being over, he switches to asking Mattera if he's ever been in the service.  As if Murtha's service, however honorable, excuses any future actions -- including slandering our troops and hoping against hope that we LOSE in Iraq.

Mr. Murtha, I remember that there was once another man who served in our military.  He was this nation's finest general, and it's first real war hero.  His name?

Benedict Arnold.

Lt. Col. Jeffrey Chessani

With most of the eight Marines charged in the Haditha, Iraq, incident now exonerated, the highest-ranking officer among the accused is considering a lawsuit against Democratic Rep. John Murtha, who fueled the case by declaring the men cold-blooded killers.

In an interview with nationally syndicated radio talk host Michael Savage, the lead attorney for Lt. Col. Jeffrey Chessani said he and his client will look into suing Murtha and the Time magazine reporter, Tim McGuirk, who first published the accusations by Iraqi insurgents.

Congressman Murtha Has Said

"The United States and coalition troops have done all they can in Iraq, but it is time for a change in direction.  Our military is suffering.  The future of our country is at risk.  We can not continue on the present course.   It is evident that continued military action in Iraq is not in the best interest of the United States of America, the Iraqi people or the Persian Gulf Region."   - Congressman Murtha, November 17, 2005

"The military had no problem recruiting directly after 9/11 because everyone understood that we had been attacked. But now the military's ability to attract recruits is being hampered by the prospect of prolonged, extended and repeated deployments; inadequate equipment; shortened home stays; the lack of any connection between Iraq and the brutal attacks of 9/11; and - most importantly - the administration's constantly changing, undefined, open-ended military mission in Iraq. I didn't have concerns like these when I enlisted in the Marines during the Korean War or volunteered to go to Vietnam.- Congressman Murtha, January 5, 2006

"The military surge has created a window of opportunity for the Iraqi Government.  Unfortunately, the sacrifice of our troops has not been met by the Iraqi Government and they have failed to capitalize on the political and diplomatic steps that the surge was designed to provide. "The fact remains that the war in Iraq cannot be won militarily, and that we must begin an orderly redeployment of U.S. forces from Iraq as soon as practicable." - Congressman Murtha, November 30, 2007

“Even today, five years later, this Administration refuses to provide us with reasonable answers to two very reasonable questions. First, what are we trying to accomplish in Iraq? And second, what is the United States’ "mission" there?” Congressman Murtha, May 1, 2008

Today the charges were dropped against Lt Col Chisani (sp?).  That leave one left; however, I also heard some Marine Colonel reinstated the charges against him.  I'll bet Murtha gave him a call.  All of these Marines are going to sue Murtha.  He desparately needs one of them to go down.

Who is there to call him on it?  ABC? CBS? NBC? CNN? FoxNews? MSNBC? NYT? Washington Post? LA Times? USAToday? TIME? NewsWeek? 60 Minutes?

Despite our disgust with Republican politicians; it IS true that when Conservative Republican Senators or Congressmen DO speak, the media simply refuses to cover it.  It was never said.  It never happened.
