House Hikes Energy Taxes on Americans, Gives Tax Breaks to Venezuelan Dictator Hugo Chavez

Urge Your Senators to Vote "No" on H.R. 5351!

Apparently, your elected leaders in  don't believe you are paying enough for gas at the pump and for your home heating bills.

On February 27, the Democrat-led U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 5351 -- legislation that increases taxes some $18 billion on American oil and gas producers -- guaranteeing higher prices at the gas pump for consumers -- while at the same time leaving intact tax breaks for Venezuela state-run oil company CITGO   That’s right; the House-passed legislation exempts one of the most anti-American dictators in the world, Hugo Chavez, from the massive tax increase.

As Investor’s Business Daily noted, “It goes to show that Congress is more willing to empower dictators than to get serious about America's energy supply

And, according to CNSNews, “Senate Democratic leaders have indicated they would fast-track the bill to try to avoid a Republican filibuster.”

The tax breaks for Hugo Chavez should outrage all Americans.

But equally offensive is the fact that supporters of H.R. 5351 contend that the legislation will actually reduce our nation's dependence on foreign oil.

Nothing could be further from the truth. You would have thought our elected leaders had learned something from the bad energy policies of the past.

Simply put, if this legislation becomes law, the result would likely be higher energy prices, less domestic production and, thus greater dependence on foreign sources of oil from places like the Middle East, Venezuela and Russia.

Remember, some news reports indicate that Senate Democrat leaders may try to quickly force H.R. 5351 through the Senate.

Please contact your Senators to make your voice heard today!
We've got to do a better job of getting across that America is freedom--freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of enterprise. And freedom is special and rare. It's fragile; it needs protection.

This is ridiculous!  Have any of the supporters of this bill given any reasonable justification for this bill?

How many of the 535 people that we supposedly send to Congress do OUR bidding, actually operate out of a desire to do what benefits the American People.

Forget term limits.  The entire Congress needs to be FIRED, and replaced - wholesale.  Both Houses have ceased to function for the benefit of the American People.  It's filled top to bottom with self-serving, power-hungry, half-retarded SCUM.

BUT, don't worry about Energy!  We'll all be saved by CORN ETHANOL.
